I eas invited to speak at a conference in Cincinnati last weekend; and since it was sponsored by a nonprofit charitable organization, we were asked if we would be willing to share a hotel room. Knowing how cash-strapped nonprofits are, I agreed to do it.

On the first day, I went to the registration table and checked in. I was told that I was in room 1304 (My favorite--nice and high so I can look out over the city.) and my room mate was a man by the name of Rob Barkley. I went upstairs to my room to drop my things before I came down to the conference area. I was surprised when I went into the room and found that it had only one bed--a king-size bed, but the room had a small suite adjoining it with a pull-out couch. So, I decided that this was going to be okay since I didn't have to sleep with a man I didn't know. Apparently, the man had already been there because his suitcase and backpack were in the room.

I went down to the conference area and went straight to the exhibits area and looked around at all the stuff--especially the free stuff because I'm cheap :). I like to visit the exhibits because I found out that I can make so many professional connections there. I had from 4:00 until 7:00 to hang out because there was a plenary session going on then. I enjoyed looking at the exhibitor's products and services and did that until 6:00 when I went to the lobby cafe for a light lunch before going to the session
