Shawn was sitting in the back corner booth when I arrived at the diner. He gestured for me to join him, so I walked straight back to the table and had a seat. We talked for a little while after the waitress brought us our drinks, and took our order. His crystal blue eyes mixed with his deeply tanned skin and 5 o'clock shadow made him absolutely captivating. I kept looking down or away, to keep from lifting the table without any hands. He asked me if something was wrong, and I lied through my teeth, when I told him no.

We started talking about school and our respective career paths. We talked about our high school days, his track records, and my lack of prowess in any sport. Shawn found that humorous, and told me he'd teach me anything I wanted to know. I know my eyebrows rose slightly at the prospects of what "Anything" meant, but I quickly looked down at my drink and took a sip, while letting that comment slide.

The waitress brought our food and we started eating and discussing the arrangements for moving into my parents' house. I would show up on Saturday around 8am and his uncle Shane would help us load the pick-up truck, then he would follow us in his car, to help us carry everything in. We'd go back to Shane and Rachel's house for a second trip, have lunch and then Shane would follow us back to the house one last time, to make sure we got everything moved in one day.
