KARI - Part 1

Some obligatory information to bring us up to speed...

His name is Jim. He works in a mid-sized but very successful firm a short drive from where he resides in a small mid-western town. His town sits between two large cities along the western shore of a Great Lake. Recently one of his client's fates was determined by the economic crash of this century, and even though he tried to warn the owner to close up his inkjet cartridge refill shop, the owner continued to fight until it had literally sucked every dollar from his pockets. It was disheartening to watch, even more so since his store was directly next to the building in which Jim worked. Soon after he'd locked the doors, an investor bought him out lock stock and barrel. This mysterious investor preferred to act as a silent partner, hiring someone to manage the office for him; a woman named Kari, and that my friend is where our story begins.....
