When we met up at Jill's the following week - she being 40 years young - I had a strange feeling that, after last week's shorter story as they had already become, the three women of mature years, to that of Jenny and myself, were a tad bit inhibited about being frankly explicit.

Having left school at 16, and with no interest in higher education, I thought that I could do pretty much any job I set my mind to; how wrong was that assumption, I soon realised, when all I could get were menial jobs; most of which, for one reason or another, only lasted a short while.

As time went on, It got so, that, having viewed the long list on my résumé, prospective employers would turn me down flat, which ultimately forced me to, at the young age of 21, sign on the social welfare.

Approaching the sixth week, and with little job prospects, a Ms Daniels appeared to take a concerted interest in my plight.
