This story tells how attending a wedding I didn't want to go to paid off big time by the end of the night!

Maybe it's because Christmas Eve was a Monday this year, or maybe it was because I was dateless, but I was NOT looking forward to attending my friend's wedding this year the weekend before Christmas. However, it definitely ended up being a special occasion! I sort of made a fool of myself by asking out a woman named Skyler, who unbeknownst to me, had a serious boyfriend! I'm 33 years old and Skyler is a bit younger than me at 26, but we have a lot in common. I teach at the high school level and she is a certified elementary teacher, although her specialty is the same area I teach. She's a substitute right now, but based on our commonalities she spends a lot of time in my classroom when she can. She's also very athletic and has big boobs and shoulder-length blonde hair, so needless to say there are other reasons that explain my attraction to her! But, when she told me she couldn't go to the wedding with me, it left me with a feeling of dread. I was actually thinking of texting my buddy as late as the day off to tell him I was sick and couldn't make it but I didn't. And, that ended up being the best decision I've perhaps ever made! When I got to the wedding, I noticed that Skyler was sitting by herself in the church pew. I wasn't sure what the story was so I just let it be and also sat by myself for the ceremony. At the reception, I found out that her boyfriend ended up bailing on her due to family obligations. Since it was Christmas time, I was a bit confused as to why these obligations wouldn't have included Skyler, but I decided not to force the issue and just have a good time; I essentially had a date as we ended up paired together most of the night for the dinner and dancing at the reception. It actually ended up being a group of three as Anna joined us. Anna is also 26 and teaches at the same school I do. Anna is married but, for reasons I never found out, was dateless for this event as well. Her and Skyler were friends before our professional paths crossed so the three of us were quite acquainted and had a great time at the reception together. Well, as tends to happen at wedding receptions, the three of us were quite drunk by the end of the night. Skyler and I lost track of Anna and I bid Skyler a good night and started walking upstairs to my hotel room. She said "Good night" back to me, but then confessed that due to the last minute cancellation of her boyfriend, she was without a place to stay.
