Karine looked around her. She had stopped at the centre bank of pumps at the supermarket filling station only because the other five were occupied. Normally she would pick one of the outer-most banks even waiting behind a car while other pumps were free.

Why? Because like now all the other motorists were men and she knew that the moment she slid her five foot four frame down from the 4x4 all eyes would be on her. Worse still was that at each bank of pumps there was a queue; so more eyes would be on her.

It wasn't vanity. Okay, she liked to look good, Okay, she didn't mind admiring glances. But men stared.. . overtly, not even trying to pretend not to when she glanced their way. It made her feel self-conscious, embarrassed, her cheeks going pink.

Today of all days she wasn't dressed for shopping let alone standing at a fuel pump under the scrutiny of lustful eyes. She and Eloise had arranged to meet in town for a long overdue girlie lunch. Thus Karine was wearing a recently purchased skater's skirt that had taken her fancy in a dress shop in town. It was in bright multi-colours with blue, yellow and white; revealing her slim, tanned thighs. A navy coloured string top set it off, showing her tanned shoulders and arms.
