The Gardener, the Maid and Me

When I was unemployed and just before I started modelling, I received a surprise phone call from a woman I had worked with at my previous job. Joan and I had been good friends, although I hadn't heard from her since I left the firm.

She explained that she and her husband were going on vacation for a week. There had been a spate of burglaries in her area and they were worried about leaving the house unoccupied. She thought that if I was still unemployed, I might be prepared to house-sit for them.

I was a bit bored anyway so I agreed to help her out. Joan explained that their gardener Sam and their cleaner Simone would be taking the opportunity to call several times during the week to carry out tasks additional to their normal chores.

I arrived early on a Monday morning with my case and after Joan had shown me around the house, and where I was to sleep, I waved goodbye to her and her husband. The four-bed roomed house was situated in a tree-lined, affluent neighborhood and had a large secluded garden, complete with a small swimming pool.
