His eyes felt gritty from fast forwarding, pausing, and watching hours of CCTV videos. Homicide Detective Iosefa "Joe" Teo was looking for a dark colored cargo van, generic in appearance, in the vicinity of where Felicia Johnson's body was found. They had surmised from a collection of past videos from the previous dump sites that it was a Chevrolet Express cargo van estimated to be newer than a 2000 model.

It was hard to see much detail in past videos because the van was dark with a dark matte grill and bumper and the models barely changed from year to year. What little they saw of the driver, he wore glasses and a baseball hat, his features indiscernible, his hair not visible. From his appearance in the van, forensics estimated him to be about average in size between five-nine and six feet tall. He wasn't fat or particularly skinny. Mr. Generic. The license plates were muddied, probably on purpose, and between the poor quality of the surveillance video and the dirt, they were unable to read the number.
