Detective Jerry Mueller picked up the phone before it finished ringing. It was the ME's office in Lake County, Illinois. The Lake County Coroner was located in Waukegan about ten miles south of the Wisconsin border.

"Detective Mueller? This is Dr. John Carmichael with the Lake County Coroner."

"Yes, Doctor. I'm just relieved we found our missing girl even under these circumstances. We were pretty certain she was dead. We just hoped she wasn't buried in a landfill somewhere. Her mother will finally get ...
