Chapter 12: The Ring

Thomas Michael Chapman was convicted of eight counts of first degree murder and sexual assault on Wednesday, October 23, 2019. The judge sentenced him to life in prison without chance of parole. The sentencing was so quick because he made a plea agreement with the District Attorney upon the advice of his attorney Simon Fillmore.

The families of two of the last Forgotten Girls arranged hasty funerals, the girls' remains buried before Chapman's sentencing.

FBI Special Agent and BSU Profiler Sydney Babcock returned to Wisconsin to question Thomas Chapman in prison. She arranged with Chapman and the warden to interview him under the guise of better understanding his urges and motives for the killings. She was taken to an interview room where Chapman awaited her in chains.

She sat down, setting a thick file folder down on the table in front of her. She said to Chapman, "Do you mind if I record our interview?"

"No."
