Having expanded my office skills to human resources, the company I was now working for made me the assistant to Jane, the HR manageress. Then, after about three months, when she was about to take her two weeks annual leave, we received notification that two members of staff were leaving, resulting in us having to find replacements. Sifting through the spec letters and CV's that we keep on file, Jane selected a short list of six, who we then contacted; however, only three were currently looking for work. Arranging interviews for the following week, Jane asked ‘if I could manage.' "Sure," I said, adding: "leave it in my capable hands. You go and enjoy yourself, okay."

Come the day of the interviews, and not wanting to otherwise distract them, I dressed quite smartly: cream coloured stockings (tights...yuk) held up by a matching garter belt, black lacy French knickers, a full cup strapless bra, a black skirt cut just above the knee, a maroon open neck blouse with a 2 pointed collar, black patent shoes, and a mottled grey jacket.

Upon arriving at work, I began preparing for the afternoon's interviews, during which Mr Tyler phoned down, and after chatting for a while he wished me luck.
