LITTLE TOMMY D INTERVIEW

Another relative newcomer to the ES family, Little Tommy D has nevertheless proved himself a prolific purveyor of punchy porn. Since his first story, "The Weekend I learned to Tune A Twinkie," was published in May, he has gifted us not only with a succession of subsequent tales, he is also responsible for one of the most popular series of recent months, the mammoth "I'm Rethinking my Aversion to Mall Shopping." So, who is Little Tommy D>

A. I am a retired Certified Financial Planner (CFP), a University grad with a degree in Marketing. I love writing and my subjects are varied. I started writing when I wrote my first marketing book in 1975 during a snowstorm that kept me locked in the house. Over the years, my publisher issued 9 technical sales books, I had three national Journal articles, and six magazine articles in my resume. I have been mentioned in the New York Times business section.I have four novels under my belt edited by a professional editor in South Carolina, but I have not submitted any of my erotic stories to her although I do furnish her the e-mails I receive from fans. I'm married, have one son, one grandson. I have concentrated on mastering the art of goofing off in the 19 years I have been in retirement.

Q. How and when did you begin writing erotic stories?

In August 2011. I took a challenge from a friend and wrote my first edition.

Q. Have you published anywhere other than ES.com?

The first edition was the challenge and it was submitted to Literotica. I haven't looked at that web site since it was published.

Q. What is it about writing erotica that you most enjoy?

It's easy, it's quick, it flows, it brings a smile, and it pleases an audience that is hungry for good, out-of-the-mainstream, stories to whet their appetite for stimulation of their mind that is mostly unavailable elsewhere.

Q. What is your favorite category to write in, and why?

One on one because it's believable, personal, intimate, normal, and more adaptable to sharing with partners, spouses, friends, and fans.

Q. How much of yourself do you include in your stories?

Don't I wish. I think my stories are like all , they're fantasies of the mind, a collection of dreams, a chance to act out desires that never were nor can never be, but are always out there in the clouds waiting to be implemented. The only personal tie is that I did teach Finance for ten years at a local University.

Q. Is there anything that happens in your stories that you would really like to try in "real life", but haven't yet been able to?

I'm a man--everything that's on paper is something that I would like to try given the opportunity.. My chances are all behind me now. I'm the typical 'Born 30 years too soon Generation' as I'm now 77 and those days are locked in wishes.

Q. Does your partner or any of your friends know that you write? What do they think?

The reason I have time to write is that my wife of 43 years now has Alxheimer's and we don't get out often anymore. I use that time to do my writing. So, only my editor knows at this point.

Q. What, if any, difficulties do you face when writing - erotic writing difficulties and general writing difficulties? And how do you overcome them?

When writing my novels, and I have one in progress now, I clear my mind by writing something else that's far removed from my story line. While writing an addition for ES, I often connect on an idea or avenue for my novel, when I do, I go back to my main writing and use that idea to complete my blockage.

Q. How about in more general terms - how do you feel about the "outside world"'s perception of erotic writing?

Victorian thinking abounds even with today's 'freer' ability to do or see most anything. Even with the Court ruling about language on TV, few network shows allow writers to use the old taboos in their shows. Only the late shows venture into sex, words, and skits, and that's unfortunate. The religious lobby keeps it under control. Remember, there was no prohibition against advertising hard liquor on TV, the industry bowed to pressure for years, but now it's out there and the church groups choke when they see it. I read that there are more nude beaches available now if one knows where to look.

Q. One thing that I love about ES is that you very quickly build up a community of fans, who enjoy writing to and hearing from their favorite authors. Do you have any favorite topics that have surfaced in these "conversations"?

I only read and respond to e-mails left by fans. I really don't have the time to take advantage of all that's offered on ES at this point. I hope to participate soon.

Q. How do you feel when you receive negative comments or very low votes from readers?

I immediately try to adjust to comply to reasonable comments. Examples--I received a comment that my character needed to be separated when speaking so that it was easier to discern who was speaking and to whom. I broke it up into separate paragraphs in following stories. Another suggested my paragraphs were too long for easy reading. I made them shorter. To follow the suggetion, I sent an e-mail to all my fans thanking them and asking for critical comments so that I can adjust to make it easier for them. I bend to their desires because without their support, I'm dead in the water.

Q. And do you read, and respond to, other writers on the site? Who are your favorites?

Again, it is a time problem at the moment with the care I have to provide my spouse and her identical twin sister who is also affected with Alzheimer's. I intend to scrounge out the time to read others as a learning lesson for my writings. I don't want my fans to feel I am ignoring their stories, it is just that I need to find time of my own.

Q. Do you remember the first pornography you ever saw?

During WW-II, we kids would meet the troop trains and be 'go'fers' as they weren't allowed off the trains. Some of them, mostly sailors, would give us pictures and playing cards as favors for buying their cokes, etc. We had an underground market at school to trade with each other. It was the first totally nude women I ever saw, and the things they did--Whoa was the word of the day when we could stand and walk away.

Q. Do you have any fantasies that you would like to fulfill?

Read any of my stories, pick any of the male characters, read what they do, and then you have my answer.

Q. What is a major turn on for you during sex?

It's been so long you'll have to lead me through that one--What's sex?

Q. How about a major turn off?

Women who pretend that their private parts are something precious and one of a kind not to be seen, touched, or admired by a cretin such as a male.

Q. How do you feel about same sex relationships, both personally and as a writer?

Truthfully, they stink. I'm obviously old school and am very uncomfortable with even the thoughts of it. Sorry.

Q. Do you explore these feelings in your stories?

I am preparing one addition to my series that features a bisexual encounter because one of my lead characters has confessed to being bisexual. Other than that, I have no plans to include other new characters in a same sex situation.

Q. How long does it take for you to write a story? Could you talk us through the process?

I start around ten A. M., break to care for my spouse, write in-between, usually finish around seven. I come back at nine or ten and proof the story, polish it, and have it ready for submission the next morning if I didn't sent it that night. Story lines come easy to me, I make them up as I go, I use no outlines, story lines, or planning beforehand. I enter a Title and go from there.

Q. What do you think is the best story you have published here?

'Texas Heat, Short Shorts, and a Craving.'

Q. Is there anything else you would like to say to the readers of this interview and your fans? Now is your chance...

I value your time and support. I am striving to bring you the best of stories with interesting plots that provide you a reading experience other than just raw sex. I am open to suggestions, criticisms, critiques, or just a friendly note to open the lines of communication. Thank you for all your flattering comments.

Q. Finally, do you have a website or a blog, where your fans can visit and maybe learn more about you?

Not at this time. If anyone wants, they can leave me a e-mail message and I'll respond with any answers they may require about me and my background.

Please read Little Tommy D.'s stories!
