PARTY INTERVIEW

The singularly-named Party has been publishing at ES since January 2004, when he gifted us with "Swing Voting." Since then, he's published fourteen new stories, including several multi parters, and most recently, Last Train Home - The Revisit, at the end of April. "It's the sequel to a story published at the beginning of 2011 and sees the main female characters get blackmailed in to a repeat performance," he says, before adding, "I'll leave the readers to find out how it ends though."

Q. To start, is there anything you'd like to tell us about yourself?

A. You mean like how in my dreams I look like Michelangelo's David, just with a much bigger cock? Sadly that is very much a dream, I'm very much a normal guy. Born and raised in the centre of the UK, now living in our nation's capital (where, by the way, the public transport will never cope during the Olympics, so could you please all stay at home?). Happily married for a decade, and leading a fairly average life.

Q. How and when did you begin writing erotic stories?

A. I started with the first story published on ES.com. Basically an idea for a story formed in my head while on holiday and I just started writing. The events are not based on reality, just my imagination running away with me after a few too many cocktails!

Q. Have you published anywhere other than ES.com?

A. No. I found ES.com when I was first looking to publish and have stuck with it as I think a) it's a great site and b) the readers are pretty intelligent and give good feedback.

Q. What is it about writing erotica that you most enjoy?

A. It allows my imagination to run wild. I love my wife and we have a good sex life, but sometimes ideas just start forming. Neither of us are very adventurous in real life, so this allows me to be a bit more so.

Q. What is your favorite category to write in, and why?

A. The vast majority of my stories have been in the "slut wife" category. It's not a path I could ever imagine my marriage going down, yet there is something intriguing to me about that idea of a married woman loosening the bonds for a short while.

Q. How much of yourself do you include in your stories?

A. Hard to say. I don't base my characters or events on anything in real life, but I guess sub-consciously elements of myself will appear in my male characters.

Q. Is there anything that happens in your stories that you would really like to try in "real life", but haven't yet been able to?

A. No. I suppose all of the elements intrigue me as they're what I write about, but I don't think I'd ever go down those routes.

Q. Does your partner or any of your friends know that you write?  What do they think?

A. No, not that I am aware of anyway. I think if my wife found out she'd actually be pretty horrified!

Q. What, if any, difficulties do you face when writing - erotic writing difficulties and general  writing difficulties?  And how do you overcome them?

A. The main difficulty I have at the moment is that I don't have any word processor on my home PC, so I actually have to do my writing in the office! That, as I'm sure you can imagine, has its own perils...

Q. How about in more general terms - how do you feel about the "outside world"'s perception of erotic writing?

A. I think the general perception is that it's quite a seedy thing. Although looking at the success that 50 Shades of Grey is having it may open things up a little more. I've not read an of the books, but it sounds as though they could open up a new world of erotica within writing.

Q. One thing that I love about ES is that you very quickly build up a community of fans, who enjoy writing to and hearing from their favorite authors.  Do you have any favorite topics that have surfaced in these "conversations"?

A. Sadly I've not had any real conversations with readers. I appreciate all of the comments that I get and try to respond to them all, and I think it's great that this opportunity to interact exists on the site.

Q. How do you feel when you receive negative comments or very low votes from readers?

A. As long as low votes are backed up with a comment as to why the reader has given it, then that's fine, that gives me a chance to respond. I understand that there are things people do and don't like in stories, and if they're clear as to why they didn't like a particular aspect, then I'm happy to say why I thought it should be included. I like to get feedback whether people liked or disliked the story, what I don't like is when people just comment "shit story" or such like, without explaining their feelings.

Q. And do you read, and respond to, other writers on the site?  Who are your favorites?

A. There are a few that I look out for, such as Just Plain Bob, Friskee_cpl, Stormbringer and of course, Naughty Miranda. I like stories that are well written, and titillate me. If I particularly like a story, then I will send a short comment.

Q. Do you remember the first pornography you ever saw?

A. I remember the odd porn mag being shown discreetly in the playground, probably in my early to mid-teens. The first movie was probably either Emmanuelle, or maybe a Ben Dover film.

Q. What's the kinkiest thing you have ever done?

A. Nothing, I'm pretty "vanilla".

Q. Do you have any fantasies that you would like to fulfill?

A. No, my sex life is pretty good as it is.

Q. What is a major turn on for you during sex?

A. Slow and loving foreplay. The excitement of building up to making love is really sexy.

Q. How about a major turn off?

A. The other person seeming distracted. It makes me wonder why I'm bothering

Q. How do you feel about same sex relationships, both personally and as a writer?

A. I'm not against them at all, each to their own. However I wouldn't personally try a mm relationship, just doesn't float my boat.

Q. Do you explore these feelings, positive and negative in your stories?

A. I've introduced a couple of female same-sex scenes in my stories. Mostly they tie in with what I mentioned above, the idea of a married woman letting go and expanding her boundaries however briefly.

Q. How long does it take for you to write a story?  Could you talk us through the process?

A. The idea for a story will sometimes be formulated by an event that I've experienced, or just simply a thought that pops into my head. For the most part, after that the story seems to flow quite quickly as I'm typing and I just let events take their course as I put them down on paper. However it can often take a while between starting and finishing a story as other things get in the way. That said, even if it's a couple of weeks between writing periods, I still find it quite easy to pick up where I left off.

Q. What do you think is the best story you have published here?

A. I like all of my stories, but if I had to pick one I'd go with the first part of "Swing Voting" as it was the first time I'd tried any erotic writing. Not only that, but that it got published and has had pretty good votes too.

Q. Is there anything else you would like to say to the readers of this interview and your fans? Now is your chance...

A. Just a big THANK YOU. Thanks for reading, thanks for voting and thanks for commenting. That's the reason I continue to post stories.

Q. Finally, do you have a website or a blog, where your fans can visit and maybe learn more about you?

A. No, I shall remain an enigma.

Please read Party's stories!
