GENTLE ANGEL INTERVIEW

Gentle Angel has been publishing with ES for eleven years now ("wow. I hadn't even realized that it had been so long"), ever since "Dream Lover" debuted his talents on April 6th, 2001. "I still love that story," she says, "even though it seems ...tame to me now. "

Since that time, she has published thirteen stories, plus a couple that, mystifyingly, "did not make the cut over to the archives." Mystifying, because I have loved every word she has written. Her most recent, published the weekend before we spoke, was "I Cheated On Him." And yes, it is very appropriately titled.

Q. Now, is there anything you'd like to tell us about yourself?

I'm a very private and discreet person. I think that's why I dig the anonymity of eroticstories. I can write stories about the things I can't generally talk about with other people. It's kind of a kick to imagine that other people find my stories arousing. That idea thrills me.

Q. How and when did you begin writing erotic stories?

I was seeing an older man who liked the things I wrote. He asked me to write a couple of erotic stories for him. He suggested I should publish them in an anonymous fashion because he thought many would stroke off to my stories. I'm so glad he did.

Q. Have you published anywhere other than ES.com?

Erotic stories? Well.. back 11 years ago, I put a story up on Literotica. But last time I looked for it, about 5 years ago, it was nowhere to be found.

Q. What is it about writing erotica that you most enjoy?

I love the image of someone pleasuring his or her self to one of my stories. That image never ceases to arouse me. I could just about come myself to the idea of someone else coming to one of my stories.

Q. What is your favorite category to write in, and why?

I've jumped around a few categories. I honestly do not know if I have a favorite. Right now, I'm heavy into the cuckold section because that's very near and dear to my heart. I have plans to write some other stories in some other categories, though, I have a lot of ideas in my head.

Q. How much of yourself do you include in your stories?

Honestly, most of my stories are basically true. I shift some of the details around and occasionally I stick in some scenario that was pretend but the general premise of the stories so far have always been true. Well... ok. That one about sex on an 18 wheeler. That was made up. Completely and totally. Call that one a "secret white trash fantasy."

Q. Really? I believed every word! Is there anything that happens in your stories that you would really like to try in "real life", but haven't yet been able to?

Hahaha. The 18 Wheeler. If the scenario was right, I might. But as I said, aside from that one, they are mostly true.

Q. Does your partner or any of your friends know that you write? What do they think?

Yes, he knows. He digs it. He is a big fan of my work. He always reads them and he always gets off to them.

Q. What, if any, difficulties do you face when writing - erotic writing difficulties and general writing difficulties? And how do you overcome them?

The biggest difficulty is not being lazy and sitting down and doing it. I love to write. The majority of my writing is not erotic literature. And even there, I have a hard time being disciplined enough to actually do it. Often and consistently.

Q. How about in more general terms - how do you feel about the "outside world"'s perception of erotic writing?

I really do not know. I mean, it's not something that generally comes up in my interactions in my "real life." I would think, however, that they would often be likened to "pictureless pornography."

Q. One thing that I love about ES is that you very quickly build up a community of fans, who enjoy writing to and hearing from their favorite authors. Do you have any favorite topics that have surfaced in these "conversations"?

I can't say that I've been lucky enough to talk to many of my fans. I remember being so flattered and thrilled when the anal story came out and someone wanted to use that story for a "now defunct" website about sexuality. I was so incredibly proud that they wanted to use the story.

Q. How do you feel when you receive negative comments or very low votes from readers?

Well.... I'm not going to say I love negative comments.. But I try to consider if they might have an actual point with genuine criticism. Could it have been more detailed? Did it actually jump around oddly... that sort of thing. As to the just "Your story sucks," kind of comments... Well, you can't please everyone.

Q. What kind of stories would you never write?

I don't know.. If I thought my partner would be turned on by any particular genre, I'd sure give it a go. But I'm not chomping at the bit to write stories about things that do nothing for me sexually. And...I don't see myself writing erotic poetry. My poetry is pretty bad to start with. I think that'd be just sad.

Q. And do you read, and respond to, other writers on the site? Who are your favorites?

I can't think of any authors off hand. I do read at eroticstories. I love to pass time and arouse myself with a story here and there. I find them very stimulating.

Q. Do you remember the first pornography you ever saw?

I do, actually. I was super young. It was at a drive-in. Remember when they would play the features and then they would show a porno at the very end, very very late? I think they thought I was sound asleep so my parents stuck around a bit. They left pretty quickly when they turned around and saw me in the backseat incredibly wide-eyed.

Q. Oh my god, that's hilarious! How many people can say they saw their first porn with their parents? So, aside from that, haha, what's the kinkiest thing you have ever done?

That's a really hard question because what's kinky to me.. may be lame and boring to someone else. Hrm... Kinky? We went to a party with 2 other couples and we ended up kind of......switching up. It was delicious.

Q. Do you have any fantasies that you would like to fulfill?

I am constantly dreaming up new fantasies to fulfill. I would still like to explore a lot more with swinging, though.

Q. What is a major turn on for you during sex?

Confidence. I dig that. A willingness to try new things.

Q. How about a major turn off?

Someone that is unwilling to consider the possibility there is more out there sexually than just their current set of moves.

Q. How do you feel about same sex relationships, both personally and as a writer?

I think they are great. If it feels good, it is good. I've written a little about same sex situations and as my experience broadens, I will probably write about more.

Q. Do you explore these feelings, positive and negative in your stories?

Sure. I like chicks. I'm always down to be present for a little bit of male on male action. It just needs to be that everyone participating is comfortable.

Q. How long does it take for you to write a story? Could you talk us through the process?

Generally, I have the story already there in my head. So it's usually a matter of getting motivated to sit down and type it out. Most times, I can type it out in a couple of hours. I could get very hung up in the editing and proof reading, and after I always feel "you should have got more hung up" Especially when I find dumb little errors.

Q. What do you think is the best story you have published here?

I really like "I Fucked My Ex For Him." I'm not sure if it's the best but it's my very favourite.

Q. Is there anything else you would like to say to the readers of this interview and your fans? Now is your chance...

Thanks for taking the time to read this interview. I hope you like my stories. I want them to turn you on. I want them to get you off. That's why I write them ultimately.

Q. Finally, do you have a website or a blog, where your fans can visit and maybe learn more about you?

Ahh.. No. This is where my erotic literature lives.

Please read Gentle_angel's stories.
