ALDEN BRADLEY INTERVIEW

Q. How long have you been publishing at ES?

A. Thirteen years! Since 2000. Has it really been that long? Maybe I'm in a rut.

Q. What and when was the first story you published here?

A. LOL! The title of my first work is no longer allowed! It had to do with mind-control. I reworked it recently. It's called Mesmer-wife. Not as snappy as the original title, but true to the content. It was the only mind-control story I ever attempted. I loved it because there was a twist at the end.

Q. How many stories have you published since then?

A. Maybe fifty or sixty. I've removed some because they were lousy, got low scores and just weren't up to standard. I think I've got about 40 on the site now.

Q. What was your most recent one?

A. Taking the Boss. I just love office sex. Work is where most of us meet and interact. The PC BS of sexual harassment has really impeded the tendency of folks at work to hook up. Not that I want anybody to have to endure unwanted approaches; when the babe says, "Leave me alone!" a guy should get the message and move on.

Q. To begin with, what can you tell us about yourself?

A. This is only one facet of my life. Seriously, I don't spend every waking hour thinking about sex, love, and relationships. I have a master's in education and have been around the world a couple of times. It is my tendency to respect the dignity of each person and I believe everyone has the right to say "No," or "Yes," depending on their desire at any given moment.

Q. Three or four points that will help your fans get to know you a little better

A. First of all, it isn't about me. It's about the stories, the characters, the situations, and the plot. Me? I'm just an old fart with a desire to share ideas and concepts with anybody willing to listen. Any author who believes the focus is about him or her isn't serious about communicating. They want their 15 minutes. That's pop culture, and it's a sad reflection on any society. I love women. I find them intellectually fascinating. It depresses me to see so many women and girls trending toward the fixation with pop culture.

Interpersonal relationships are fascinating for me, as well. I don't like head games, and believe all our lives would be immeasurable improved with honest communication. I guess that's one of the reasons I write; to improve communication.

I don't believe any one individual can satisfy all needs and desires in any other person. Everyone needs to recognize that our partners will have needs that we can't satisfy and allow them the freedom to go there. Love is not possession. It is the willingness to encourage our partners to explore all facets, achieve their needs, and satisfy their desires. It requires a mature, committed relationship that goes beyond ownership.

Q. Tell us about your first truly memorable and exciting erotic experience - who was it with, what did you think, what did you do?

A. I was a virgin until I married my first wife (I've had four. Before you think anything ugly, consider that I've convinced 4 different women to marry me!). When I spent a year in college in my youth, an older student took me under her wing and taught me how to kiss, touch, and treat a woman. I remember leaning her up against a wall outside a dorm, making out and fingering her. She came and whispered, "You're really good!" That was the last time I saw her. She wouldn't see me or talk to me after that. I was crestfallen.

Q. What do you look for in a lover... and what do you look for in a one-night stand?

A. The same thing. It is my responsibility to perform in such a manner that my partner is thrilled, satisfied, and exhilarated. If she doesn't have multiple orgasms, I've fucked up. Can I say that? What I seek is a woman who wants the experience. In a long-term relationship, it is my intention to make each encounter as thrilling as the first.

Q. What's the kinkiest thing you have ever done? And what did you think about it afterwards?

A. A kink is in the eye of the beholder. I thought it was pretty kinky to be ridden by the wife of a news broadcaster while he was on the tube doing his report. She wasn't trying to punish him. It was just the social norm of the time and organization. Everybody was doing everybody else's SO. The timing of this one event just worked out and seemed pretty kinky to me. They're still married, by the way. I think he screwed the wife I had at the time while I was working. All's fair.

Q. What is the strangest place you have ever had sex?

A. My mother-in-law's bathroom. Set your imagination free!

Q. Big tits or small? Legs or ass?

A. Size? Really? Seriously? Size doesn't matter. Attitude matters. While I like curves, a set of sexy legs has it all over a humongous backside. Eyes! Eyes really do it for me.

Q. Have you ever been with a girl who couldn't fit your cock in her mouth? What did she do instead?

A. Uh, no.

Q. Tell us some of your sexual preferences.

A. Females. I mean, really? My preferences shouldn't matter to the reader. Thing is, a writer who focus only on personal preferences is just a wanker. Okay. Sorry. The challenge is to translate the images in the mind (we all think in pictures) into words on the page. A fetishist who can effectively do that is a good writer. Honestly, though, my preferences really relate to interpersonal interactions. Again, my focus is on providing a truly exceptional experience to my partner at the time. As long as she's clean, moderately attractive, and engaged, it doesn't matter to me if she's married, divorced, or single. I'm not a big fan of sneaking around, though.

Q. When you began writing erotic stories -and why?

A. Actually, I began in 1997, I think. I wanted to explore the possibility of writing erotica without including the explicit, pornographic terms and language. It's become less important to me as I've come to realize that there are appropriate situations for the variety of words. My writing now is devoted to promoting the concept of mutual love and encouragement within relationships, new paradigms for relationships that seek full emotional, mental, and sexual fulfillment of all parties.

Q. What is it about writing erotica that you most enjoy?

A. Exploring, through my characters, the development of trust, encouragement, and interpersonal interactions devoid of outdated moral judgements. I hope to demonstrate that it is possible to permit full enjoyment without the threat of damaging the safety and security of the primary relationship.

Q. Does your partner or any of your friends know that you write? What do they think?

A. My ex knew and hated it. She couldn't come to grips with the idea that the man she knew and loved as a decent, responsible, intelligent family man could promote ideas so contrary to the social mores she clung to so diligently. My current wife knows and supports my writing. She understands it, and has written some really hot stuff herself in the past.

Q. What is your favorite category to write in, and why?

A. Because I support the expansion of interpersonal relationships, I usually choose the slut wife, adultery, or swinging categories. I've made forays into the romance genre, as well, and enjoy writing them.

Q. How much of yourself do you include in your stories?

A. A lot. The primary male is usually me, because it allows me to express my concepts and ideas through his words and actions. I have, however, utilized the primary female to do the same thing in a few stories.

Q. Is there anything that happens in your stories that you would really like to try in 'real life', but haven't yet been able to?

A. I would love to send my wife off for a weekend with a lover. Oh, wait. That happened. No. Unless she wants to do it again.

Q. One thing that I love about ES is that you very quickly build up a community of fans, who enjoy writing to and hearing from their favorite authors. Have you ever gone further and started IMing, texting or even met any of your fans?

A. In fact, that's how I met my current spouse. She began commenting on my work, we established a connection, and eventually met and married. I've got one or two authors with whom I communicate regularly, limited to discussing the craft rather than the sex, though.

Q. How do you feel when you receive negative comments or very low votes from readers?

A. Usually, I regard those who vote low without comment as morons. Most just don't like the genre. They're either looking for a quick stroke and didn't find it, so they're pissed off; or they hate the thought of allowing their partners to do what they themselves want to do. Those who vote low and comment usually say something about the genre. Mostly males who are possessive troglodytes; they haven't the emotional or intellectual maturity to encourage their SOs to explore all of their sensuality. Never have I received a negative comment that addresses a lack of ability in the craft or an unrealistic situation.

Q. What do you think is the best story you have published here?

A. Take My Wife. It's a long exploration of the development of a community of folks who are adult, mature, secure, and enjoy each other intellectually and sexually. I think the story is well crafted and it certainly expresses most of the principles of trust and encouragement I espouse.

Q. Finally, is there anything else you would like to say to the readers of this interview and your fans? Now is your chance...

A. First, I'm grateful that I have fans at all! I know that much of what I write is in direct opposition to established morality. That they stick with me is an indication that there are others who may share my views of relationships and interactions. That's very gratifying. Finally, I'm not really on a crusade. I just want to share some concepts that are outside the box of traditional morality. My hope is that every individual develops into the best, most loving, intellectually astute, and sexually supportive person they can possibly be.
