Q. To begin with, what can you tell us about yourself? Three or four points that will help your fans get to know you a little better

A. Hi guys! My name is Mike, and I'm an Aussie, living in Perth, Western Australia I was born in the States and moved here when I was quite young, so I only have the vaguest memories of Boston and San Francisco. On a creative level, I write classical music and dance salsa and argentine tango, and I like to think that experience helps me to write stories that are satisfying on more than just an erotic level.

Q. How long have you been publishing at ES?

A. Wow. Has it been nearly 10 years? Yikes. I must like this or something :)

Q. What and when was the first story you published here?

A. Part 1 of Outbreak was my first one and it was published in 2004. It is a science fiction/mind control story so obviously it's aimed at a smaller audience. The first four chapters are already on the site, while the final two have stayed unwritten in my head for all this time :) I will say it does have an ending that ties the various threads/characters lines together so definitely let me know if you like the story and want me to hurry up and finish it.

Q. How many stories have you published since then?

A. Eight, of which six are still on the site. I'm not a very fast or frequent writer, but I do enjoy the process, and as a result I tend to get pretty invested in my stories. As it happens, there would have been nine stories: there was one detective/mind control story for which I had written some 9000 words before my laptop's hard drive died without warning (Picture me doing an epic "Noooo!"). Maybe one day I'll rewrite it, but if you're wondering why there's a gap in my stories between 2008 and 2012, that's a big part of why.

Q. What was your most recent one?

A. Two Chairs (2012) is a bondage/voyeurism/thriller story, and parts 2 and 3 should be on the site soon if they're not already.

Q. Tell us about your first truly memorable and exciting erotic experience - who was it with, what did you think, what did you do?

A. Haha, well hopefully this won't sound either lame or weird (tell me if I've succeeded), but if you're a dancer, you'll get this. If not, then I seriously suggest you start classes, because in my experience it's the best way I know to learn how to touch someone in a sensual way. The expression "sex on the dance floor" doesn't exist for nothing.

There was a night when I was with my first girlfriend, and we were both quite advanced Tango dancers by that stage. We were house-sitting for a friend who was away in Europe for the winter, and we had this massive place with a beautiful wooden floor to ourselves, so of course we're going to try dancing in the nude.

Being fairly cold by Perth standards, we had this roaring fire going in the corner of the living room. They had an incredibly soft cowhide rug lying in the middle of the floor so we moved that onto to the couch for snuggling later. Once I turned the overhead lights off the only way we could see each other was by the light of the flames. Then I set the stereo going.

The image I want to paint in your heads is not one of a woman with the rose in the mouth, promenading down the middle of the dance floor. That's from Ballroom Tango and that generally requires a set choreography, which Argentine tango does not. I could write another thousand words in a love-letter to Argentine Tango, but I'll leave you with the idea of moving in close embrace. A simple walk, when hips are touching hips and chest is against chest, is something you might think should be full of knees knocking and stubbed toes, but with training it becomes an effortless, surging experience, the connection between two people a subtle but persistent contact that lets you know exactly where the person's centre is, and if they're trembling with arousal, you know that too.

When you start moving around each other in the "molinete" circles that make up so much of tango, the feeling is of legs intertwining, both with foot sweeps on the ground, decorations that brush toes along shins and have thighs wrapping around each other. It's possible to spend an entire song kissing, or playing with nibbling earlobes, or biting the neck, or just simply resting against each other as our legs move under us. Even as we got more aroused, it doesn't become more jerky or forceful, just intense. I'd feel her nipples grazing my chest, so I'd graze my fingernails down her back. The hips are just slightly offset, so even as she'd feel my hardness against her right thigh, I'd feel her dampness on mine.

That cowhide rug got well used that night, that's for sure.

Q. What do you look for in a lover... and what do you look for in a one-night stand?

A. I'm a sucker for beautiful eyes and someone who is quick to smile. I love the feeling of a girl laughing even as I kiss her neck for the first time. That said, I will admit I'm actually pretty shy when it comes to seducing women I don't know. I have yet to fuck anyone I didn't care about.

Q. What's the kinkiest thing you have ever done? And what did you think about it afterwards?

A. Probably the brand of kink I love the most is sexual stimulation (not necessarily sex) in public places; I love the idea of nearly getting caught (That's where the Train ride story comes from). One New Year's Eve I was at a friend's house party with my lover at the time, and both of us were wearing remote control vibrators, and the other person had the controller. In the minutes before and during the count down we disappeared into the bathroom to finally have sex. She came just before the new year, and I came just after. Fucking amazing experience considering all our friends were in the very next room.

Q. What is the strangest place you have ever had sex?

A. There's a famous clock tower at the University of WA which is part of the hall where people have their graduations. There's a rickety wooden staircase to get up the top, and it's pretty easy to get to if you know how. I like prestigious sex with a view.

Q. Big tits or small? Legs or ass?

A. I like small tits and great legs (hmmm that sounds suspiciously like a dancer's build) - of course they have great asses too.

Q. When you began writing erotic stories -and why?

A. I was a shy, horny teenager with an overactive imagination. I had started writing for orchestras by that stage, so why not write erotica too?

Q. So wait a minute. You write music? Have I heard anything you've written?

A. Probably not, but I've studied with guys who've done orchestrations for some pretty big movies. I think many of the same techniques that apply to writing a movie-music soundtrack also apply to writing erotic stories. The art of building up and releasing tension is a good one to know, methinks ;)

Q. Does your partner or any of your friends know that you write erotica? What do they think?

A. My long-term partner knew, haha - the first story I sent her was Quality Time with Friends, and she freaked out a bit at first, but she enjoyed them once she read a few more of them. One of my brothers also knows (not the ultra religious one), because I showed him Outbreak, but other than that it's something I keep separate from my real life - not that anyone couldn't do a bit of digging and figure it out, but I just haven't seen a benefit to helping these two worlds collide.

Q. How much of yourself do you include in your stories?

A. A lot. Not that everything is truth by a long shot, but I'm writing for myself first, so they're my fantasies/daydreams.

Q. Is there anything that happens in your stories that you would really like to try in "real life", but haven't yet been able to?

A. Two Chairs deals with the idea of being forced into exhibitionistic, non-consensual sex in a manner that is actually "safe". It's the lack of control (that also happens in the mind control stories) that is darkly appealing to me, especially if what the person is being forced into is actually a situation that they enjoy, but could never accept unless they were forced into it.

In "real life", I don't know that I would ever be able to trust the kinds of people who would actually do what FVC does in the story, but assuming I found someone I could trust (and allowed me to give consent), then yeah, I'd kinda like that scenario to happen to me.

Q. What do you think is the best story you have published here?

A. That's a tough one. Many of my other stories were voted higher, but I think I actually took the biggest risk with "The Train Ride", by having random banter (which I really do enjoy writing) totally non-erotic side plots, and a completely outrageous ending. So I've got a special spot in my heart (on my cock?) for that one.

Two Chairs (especially in part 2) has more of the same, as does Quality Time with Friends, so currently they'd be my runner ups. If I can finish Two Chairs (part 3) without fucking up the ending, that will become my new favourite.

Q. One thing that I love about ES is that you very quickly build up a community of fans, who enjoy writing to and hearing from their favorite authors. Have you ever gone further and started IMing, texting or even met any of your fans?

A. I always love getting feedback! I had such a positive response from the "Instructions for Sub ladies" series that, had any of them been in Perth, we would have met. I'm an equal opportunist to the core, so it would have been roleplay, but I enjoy the process of dominating someone just as much as I understand the appeal of being submissive. I've often thought about writing a new series along those lines, since my writing has improved quite a bit since those days. And I always like meeting willing subs.
