LARRY MALONE INTERVIEW

A relative newcomer to the ES community, Larry Malone certainly prolific. He's average a story per month since his arrival here, and before that as well. He explains, "I'm a 'mature' white male writer and have been writing for many years but usually not for publication." He also wrote for "a now defunct male magazine called FirstHand where I published over 10 Contest Winners."

A widower and bi-sexual, he started writing erotic stories "a long time ago. I purchased what I thought was a hot "porn" pocket novel and a third way through it I decided it was so bad that I could do better and threw it away.

ES: What is it about writing erotica that you most enjoy?

LM: Like any writer, it's the "writing" that's enjoyable made even more so when I know that others enjoy what I write.

ES: What is your favorite category to write in, and why?

LM: Until recently, it was all about my fantasy about having anal sex because that's what I usually fantasizied about. But other topics have always been there, and I have always written about them.

ES: How much of yourself do you include in your stories?

LM: A lot. Many of the stories are true experiences or based on true experiences with only minor changes, name changes, some better fantasy endings, etc.

ES: Is there anything that happens in your stories that you would really like to try in "real life", but haven't yet been able to?

LM: Having a woman use a strap-on on me. as in my "Sorority" story.

ES: Does your partner or any of your friends know that you write? What do they think?

LM: No one has ever known, and I've never been able to discuss this writing with any one.

ES: What, if any, difficulties do you face when writing - erotic writing difficulties and general writing difficulties? And how do you overcome them?

LM: Since I like my stories as realistic as possible, to make them appealing to the reader. If I haven't experienced the story, I research a lot.

ES: How about in more general terms - how do you feel about the "outside world"'s perception of erotic writing?

LM: I think it's misunderstood and still considered "taboo", nasty, etc.

ES: One thing that I love about ES is that you very quickly build up a community of fans, who enjoy writing to and hearing from their favorite authors. Do you have any favorite topics that have surfaced in these "conversations"?

LM: I'm really enjoying hearing from women on stories I've written for them. As a guy, I know what turns me on, but I really enjoy hearing what women find "a turn on."

ES: How do you feel when you receive negative comments or very low votes from readers?

LM: I haven't had any so far. Constructive criticism which is good, but no negativity. I don't think it would bother me too much, not everyone likes everything; I certainly don't.

ES: What kind of stories would you never write?

LM: Obviously anything against the law, but I'm also not into SM/BD (Sado-masochism, bondage and discipline)

ES: And do you read, and respond to, other writers on the site? Who are your favorites?

LM: Absolutely! So far, no favorites, I'm still surfing and reading.

ES: Do you remember the first pornography you ever saw?

LM: I think it was a classic in a X rated theater house like "Behind the Green Door" or something like that.

ES: What's the kinkiest thing you have ever done?

LM: A three way with a married couple.

ES: Do you have any fantasies that you would like to fulfill?

LM: So far, just getting anal from a woman with a strap-on.

ES: What is a major turn on for you during sex?

LM: Knowing that I'm giving someone pleasure with my body.

ES: How about a major turn off?

LM: Body odors

ES: How do you feel about same sex relationships, both personally and as a writer?

LM: Never had a problem with that, and it appears in some of my stories.

ES: Do you explore these feelings, positive and negative in your stories?

LM: Absolutely

ES: How long does it take for you to write a story? Could you talk us through the process?

LM: Some stories are written rapidly since they are based on real life experiences, I can recall all the details. Others where I get an idea, like the "Tree House" written from the woman's point of view, took a little longer to write; some research was needed and I was a little nervous of what the public would think of a male written from a female's point of view. What ever I write, I like to let the stories "gel" a awhile, and I get back to them and revise and always capture typos, details, etc.

ES: What do you think is the best story you have published here?

LM: So far, I think the "Sorority" one.

ES: Is there anything else you would like to say to the readers of this interview and your fans? Now is your chance...

LM: I really enjoy feedback, as does any writer, but I especially want to hear from women on what they enjoyed or turned them on. I also enjoy hearing from the men when they really got hard reading my stories.

ES: Finally, do you have a website or a blog, where your fans can visit and maybe learn more about you?

LM: Sorry no. I don't have a blog. I'm really a low tech kind of guy.
