Welcome to our sixth interview for the site! I was so glad that this month’s Author agreed to do the interview. He is a very good author, and was highly recommended by many other authors for me to interview. So, here it is, this month’s interview with Comshaw!

Question:: First tell us something thing about yourself, like name, age, and some other things we would like to know about you...Let's call it a short bio.

My given name is Dennis and I'm 11 lustrums old. I took the personality sorter test sometime back and it pegged me as an INFP type. If you aren't familiar with this test check it out here. After I took it my wife read the description and almost fell off her chair laughing, because she said it fit me perfectly! The stories I have here at ES encompass two of my great passions, sex and writing. I've seen much, lived much and so have a huge base of experience to draw from while writing. I also love motorcycles. I've been riding one for almost 40 years now. I've been married to a wonderful woman for 34 years who supports and shares those interests and for the last five years have had the honor of sharing life with another couple, as friends and with the female half as a lover. It's been a very interesting, fun filled 5 years.

Question:: Does your spouse know you write, and if so, what does she think?

Yes she knows, approves and reads all the stories before they are submitted. My lover also knows, approves and also reads them before I submit them.

Question:: Is it difficult for you to keep your writing life separate from your professional life?

Not really. My kids are grown and out of the house, my wife shares all of my writing and I work in a field where I don't have to worry about it interfering with my professional life. So it's actually very easy to keep them separate.

Question:: What's the main reason why you write erotic stories?

There are several reasons: 1) For my wife and lover. When they read one I have written, it always leads to or is part of a very steamy session of sex. I will admit, that is as much fun for me as them! 2) Practice. It helps me sharpen my writing skills. From time to time I reread those stories I wrote at the beginning and I can see a definite difference, a large improvement in my writing. 3) To be honest, the positive comments and accolades I get from the readers. It's nice to see a story you wrote do well and it's always a stroke when you get a PM telling you a reader liked your work.

Question:: How did it all get started and what made you write your first story?

I discovered, some years ago, that I was rather good at telling a tale. About that time I discovered ES and spent much time reading the stories. Every once in a while I'd print one out and have my wife read it, at first prior to making love, and later as an integral part of it. Finally one day I thought, ‘I can do that', so I sat down at my computer and typed out a short tale of hot sex. Needless to say when I gave it to her and she read it, our sex was hotter then ever.

Question:: Do you write only fantasy or also true stories?

Most of mine are a combination, fantasies with elements of things I've experienced. In the story "Barter" where Tom is telling about the first time he tasted his wife, that came from, almost verbatim, the first time I tasted my wife.

Question:: Which ones do you prefer to write?

I don't really have one favorite category, I have several. Older/younger, Slut wife, first time, group, and one on one.

Question:: Do you also enjoy reading erotic stories?

Very much. I have always been an avid reader, so when I discovered erotic stories it was natural for me to enjoy them also. From time to time I'll cruise the new stories, here and at several other sites I frequent. I find that a well written story, with well developed characters, is a joy to read, no matter the genre. So combining my love of a good story and sex is a natural extension of my love of reading.

Question:: Which ones do you prefer to read, true or fantasy?

Either one. I've been a sci-fi fan since I was in grade school, so I've developed the ability to suspend reality and immerse myself in the story, as long as it has a plausible story line. The only condition is that it must be well written. An occasional mis-spelled word, punctuation mark, or grammatical mistake is acceptable. But a story that is rife with them, distracts me from the tale and I find myself losing interest.

Question:: Which genre do you enjoy the most?

Out side the erotic category, sci-fi. I love it and have for many years. I have a collection of my favorite sci-fi books that cover one wall of a room in my house. I have several favorite authors like Robert Heinlein. Some of his works border on the erotic. At least as a young man I remember them having a rather, ahh, upraising effect on me. If it's an erotic story, I enjoy the same one's I like to write: older/younger, slut wife, first time, one on one and group in that order.

Question:: How long have you been writing now?

I don't exactly remember, eight or nine years.

Question:: Are all your stories posted on this site or do you have some secret stories you don't want to publish for the public?

I have a couple that aren't posted her, but are on my home page. Art wouldn't allow them here for they deal with non-consensual sex. I don't have any, except unfinished ones, that I haven't published at one place or the other.

Question:: How long does it take for you to write a complete story? How does the process go?

It really depends on the story. The actual writing time of a story like "Tease" was probably 15 to 20 hours (a case of very slow typing caused by sausage fingers). But it was drawn out over several weeks for I would work an hour or two each night. Others, like "Riding Lessons" and "Freakin' Friday" took me much more time to write. I had to try and imagine what a girl in those circumstances would think and feel. I wrote and discarded many passages of those stories before they were done. Still others, like the one I'm presently writing and have been for months, are worked on for a short time, then put away while I try to sort out how I want to proceed, mostly because I come to a point in the story line where I can't decided where it should go.

Question:: What is the hardest part of writing a story?

The story line. I may spend days, weeks with an idea buzzing around in my head half formed before I type the first word. Many times the story is complete in my head before I even start to type it.

Question:: How do you come up with your story titles?

Some pop into my head before I start, like "Barter". I knew the instant the idea hit me what the title would be. Other stories, like "Riding Lessons" were completed before I chose a title. I had to modify a small part of the story to make that title fit. But once done I was very satisfied with the result. And I always try to choose a title that tells the reader something about the story. If they can read my story then look at the title and think,"Yes, that fits," I'm happy.

Question:: The characters in your stories, are they based on true people, if it's a fantasy story?

A very few are very close to being an exact description of someone I know, the majority are compilations of the mannerisms, thoughts and physical attributes of several people, and a few others are nothing more then constructs of my twisted imagination.

Question:: Do you have a favorite author on ES and if so, why?

Several: Katie Rose, Pleasure Kitten, Jenne64 and although I don't read many gay stories, K. Nitsua. Why these in particular? 1) Because each is very good and 2) Loyalty, I've known them all for a long time and know how committed they are to what they do. All but one was on the old site at the same time as I was, so I've known them for a while and know how good they are or have become. I count most as friends as well as favorite authors.

Question:: Is there anybody on this site, who you would like to see interviewed? And why?

Katie Rose, for I consider her to be one of the most talented writers I know, the same goes for K. Nitsua. I watched Jenne's talent improve over the years and I consider her to be one of the most improved writers I've ever seen. And of course P.K. you've already interviewed. Which was a very good choice by the way.

Question:: Do you also publish your stories on other sites and if so, why?

Yes. All of them are on my home page and I have a few on other sites. Why? Again several reasons:1) because one or two violate Arts policies (non-consent) 2) because I wanted to see if readers on other sites would rate my stories the same as the readers here do.

Question:: What do you like the most and the least about writing erotic stories?

What I like most: 1) the pay off when I have my wife or lover read them 2) the strokes from the readers 3)the self-satisfaction of finishing what I consider to be a cohesive, titillating tale.

What I like least: The fact that I cannot share them with my family and some of my friends.

Question:: Have you ever done research for a part of a story you didn't have any knowledge about?

Yes. Actually I should have included this under,"what I like most about writing an erotic story". What better excuse to fulfill some of my fantasies then under the guise of research? I've also reenacted some of the sexual things that have happened in my life to refresh my memory about them, or at least that was the justification I used for it at the time.

Question:: Have you learned anything you would like to share since you started writing erotic stories?

One of the greatest insights I've had while writing erotic stories is something that I knew from reading other types of stories: a fantasy, a story, read and enjoyed does not necessarily equate to a wish to fulfil that fantasy in real life. And that written erotica is much different then it's visual equivalent. Why? Because with a written story I get to manufacture, in my head, the pictures to accompany it, and my mental pictures may be a long way from the reality that hard pictures represent. Most of the time my mentally manufactured pictures are much better then hard pictures could ever be.

Question:: Which of your stories is your personal favorite, or one you enjoyed writing the most, or which one holds the best memories or feelings for you?

If I had to pick one, I'd have to say "Riding Lessons" is my favorite not because the young woman in it is a virgin, but because the concept of teaching a woman about the joys of sex has always been a favorite subject for me. As for which one holds the best memories, I'd have to point to one of my earlier stories, one I don't have published here called "Birthday Present". The reason that one holds good memories is because 90% of it is true.

Question:: When you receive comments, obviously you would enjoy the positive ones, but if you receive negative ones, do you just ignore them, build from them, or let it put a negative image over the story itself, and let it hinder your writing?

I love the positive comments. They are one of the payoffs for writing the stories I do. But I do not ignore all the negative ones, only certain ones, those being the short, "This story sucks" type of comment. If the comments seem to have a point, if the reader seems to be serious about their criticisms, I try to look at why. I've found that most times I can learn something from them, which helps to make me a better writer.

Question:: What are your thoughts when you look at your votes for your stories, and you see a line of 8's, 9's and 10's, then along comes a 5, 4, or even a 3?

It depends a lot on how my day is. If I'm in a thoughtful mood, I think,'I wonder why they did that? The story, or something in their life that has put a sour taste in their mouth?' If my mood isn't so thoughtful, forgiving or magnanimous, my only thought is, 'Jack Ass!'.

Question:: If there was one trait you could take out of one of your stories, and put it in place in your real life, what would it be and why?

Some of my characters are much bolder then I am. Even at 55 I'm still fighting the shyness that has plagued me all my life. I'm much better then I use to be, but in some instances, still not as bold as I wish to be, or as bold as some of the characters I write .

Question:: What is the impact of having fans had on your writing and your everyday life?

It's caused me to write more then I would have, which in turn has sharpened my skill as a writer. It's also given me self satisfaction and a bit more confidence.

Question:: Are you anything like your characters you write in real life?

A few of my characters are written with some of my mannerisms and convictions, others aren't. Sometimes, as in the "PayBack" series, I try to write a character who is totally different from me. I find it a challenge to try to construct a character with whom I share little or nothing.

Question:: We already know you enjoy erotic stories, but do you also enjoy the visual side of erotica, as in porn movies? If so, any favorites?

Yes I do. Although they are completely different from a written story in the way they effect me I do enjoy pictures and movies. Actually some of my favorite pictures are the amateur ones I've taken, or the ones that have been taken of me with someone. For me it's a turnon to look at them from time to time and relive those moments.

Question:: What's the kinkiest thing you have done in your life so far?

A foursome. Two men, two women. My wife and I have done it several times and find it very erotic each time.

Question:: Do you have any fantasies that you would like to fulfil?

Yes. I would love to find a woman who has never had an orgasm and be the one to give her that pleasure. I'm not talking about a virgin, or even a young woman, for there are many out there who have lived a number of years and for one reason or other have never had an orgasm. Actually I think it would be better with someone who has lived a few years and has had sex a number of times without having had a climax. I think it's the fantasy, the thought of seeing the surprise, the utter pleasure of the moment fill her face as she climaxes for the very first time.

Question:: Have you ever done erotic photography? If not, would you like to be photographed or not?

Yes, I've done it and I will again. I have a number of erotic pictures that capture moments in my life I want to remember.

Question:: What is your favorite position?

I like them all! Anytime I can have the smooth soft skin of a woman pressed against me, feel the warm, wetness of her around me, it matters not in which position it happens. But if I HAD to choose, I'd say with her sitting astride of me. I've found over the years that position puts me as deep as I can go inside her. And there's something about being as deep as you can be inside a woman, watching her face as she rides you that can be found in no other position.

Question:: Do you believe in one-night stands?

As long as you do it safely, sanely, why not? I wished that more women would consider the option. Men don't have a problem with it, we never have had. Most (not all ) men can go to bed with a woman just for sex and then kiss her and walk away. Most women can not. I attribute that to our social mores, the asinine double standard our society has constructed over the years. I guess that's one of the things that has always attracted me to Heinlein's work, the concept of casual sex without guilt.

Question:: What is a major turn on for you during sex?

See the next question.

Question:: Sextalk. Do you like or dislike talking during sex?

This is one of my favorite turn ons during sex. A well timed, whispered comment, her voice urging me on, telling me she wants me, needs me to be in her, make love to her, want her, is heaven. And from my side it's the same. I've found that most women I've been with like it and it magnifies the sensations of sex.

Question:: What is a major turn off for you during sex?

Disinterest from my partner is a big one for me. If I feel my partner isn't interested, is only doing it because she has to, it causes me to also loose interest.

Question:: What do you think about solo sex?

At 55 I've had solo sex more times then I can count. And I know my wife has, and my lover too. But personally I prefer a partner. I think it's much more fun with two, even if it is only mutual masturbation.

Question:: Your biggest mistake or shameful moment in bed?

Years ago I had a vasectomy. My doctor told me not to have sex for six weeks after the operation. After three weeks I couldn't stand it. I sweet talked my wife into doing it. All went well until I had my orgasm. As I climaxed it hurt so much, the only thing I could do was groan and yelp. She thought I was having a really good one, so she was determined to help it along. She wrapped her legs around me and began to shove herself onto me. Each thrust was agony, so much so I couldn't tell her to stop until my climax was complete. She was so pleased with herself, thinking she had given me a really, really good climax that it took me quite some time before I could tell her the truth.

Question:: Is there anything else you would like to say to the readers of this interview? Now is your chance...

Only a few things:
Be who you are;
say what you mean;
treat others like you want to be treated;
if it bothers you, change it, and you can't change it if you don't try;
never, ever masturbate more the six times a day;
and lastly, be safe, have fun.

If you want to check out Comshaw's stories, you can find them here.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this interview and comments are welcome. So the more feedback, the bigger the chance that there will be another interview! If you have any questions you would like me to ask our next victim, let me know and I will fire them at him or her!

And also, thank you so much for the feed back and comments on last month’s interview. You all have made the transition from Amanda doing them to me go so much better, and alleviate my fears of having some pretty big shoes to follow in, so to speak! Thanks to all again.
