LISA PEACOCK INTERVIEW

Armed with one of the most glamorous photographs in the entire ES family, Lisa Peacock published her first story here in 2006, since when she has published almost thirty tales, including several in the Mind Control category. So to begin... tell us about your interest in that category.

A: Whow what a starter. I think this category is influenced by other authors. I read a lot, James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reich's and others...my personal favorite James Patterson. After reading a particular part, I get a flash of inspiration and think "Hey I could use that in one of my stories" and so the seed is sown

Q: And then about yourself. Who is Lisa Peacock? Tell us a few things about yourselves - name, age and so on.

A: Hmmm this part could take up a few pages, but let me try and condense it a little. First right up front. I was involved with the sex industry for quite some years... leaving it about five years ago at the age 29.

OK, Lisa is my given name. I'm now 34 years of age, and had a privileged upbringing in one of the most beautiful countries in the world, New Zealand. Father a sea captain, mother an actress, and an older sister who is the academic sensible one taking after father, and is a lawyer. I guess I take after mother (drama queen). My sister and I look alike, but that is where the likeness ends, our personalities are quite the opposite. I had a private school education, so I was given every opportunity in life.

The question often arises, how on earth does a girl/women like you end up doing what you do. Well it all started as a bit of a laugh... bit of fun. My very good friend at the time, and I knew only too well that our bodies turned men on, we reveled in seeing their expressions as we passed them in our short skirts, and low cut tops. When we had an invitation to do it for money one day, that started us both on a treadmill we found hard to get off, and before we knew it we were very much part of the sex scene. It's a whole story that needs more time to explain than I have here. The "Lisa Peacock Chronicles" was written for this explicit purpose.

I've worked in the hotel industry, starting as a waitress, then promoted to the front desk on reception. In my story "A Town Called Buxton" there is a part based on fact...that is just how it happened. I worked as an escort in a Bordello in Melbourne for a while and if anyone has the opportunity to view an Aussie drama called "Satisfaction" you'll get an idea of what life is like, within a Bordello, it described daily life pretty accurately. I've been married for five years now, and yes, husband Dave does know all about my past, we met up at the Bordello. I'm now in Real Estate, where times are tough, but that is worldwide. With my proceeds from my past wisely invested in real estate, overall I/we live comfortably. Phew better stop there.

Q: How and when did you begin writing erotic stories?

A: I always had a hankering to write stories, and after reading some of the writings of other authors on other web sites. I put on paper my own thoughts, some of my friends read them, said I should publish them, well what better way to test the waters...I did publish and now very glad I did so.

Q: Have you published anywhere other than ES.com?

A: Yes the other major web site is asstr.com, and at one time "Stories on line", but for some reason, my stories never took off with the readers on that site, so I quit.

Q: I'm sure readers have their own vision of who you are - how much of yourself do you include in your stories?

A: Ah, yes...well quite a bit of me is in my stories...in most cases. Like most authors I write about what I know most about.

Q: What is it about writing erotica that you most enjoy?

A: Hmmmm I think it's that I can express the feelings I get, when an idea comes to me. I'm all turned on by it, I feel the passion and horniness, and hope the reader feels that same passion when he/she read it... and of course the responses from those same readers afterward. There are a few... a very, very few who for some reason can't resist... being so negative and can't wait to put pen to paper to tell you so, but I don't write for them. I write for the many, many readers who enjoy my writings, if they are happy, well then I'm happy

Q: Do you write from experience or fantasy? Or maybe a combination of the two?

A: A combination of both. Something may trigger an idea. I'm either reading a book, watching TV, something will happen and suddenly the ideas start to flow... a pinch of this and a pinch of that. (Truth, fiction) and I'm away. Most of what I describe in my stories I have experienced...i.e. Gang Bang... from my bikie days.

Q: Is there anything you have written into a story that you would really like to try in "real life", but haven't yet been able to?

A: Mmm, I can't think of any off hand... my previous work gave me plenty of opportunity.

Q: Does your partner or any of your friends know that you write? What do they think?

A: Yes, Dave is fully aware of it... in fact encourages me... as do my friends. I don't confide that same thing with my present work colleagues. I must confess that I receive help and advice from family and friends when putting my stories together; they are another source of ideas. "Why not try this or that" they ask, and I do need advice from a male perspective... "God Lisa a man would never think like that" after I've put something together... so I listen, and then rewrite.

Q: How about in more general terms - how do you feel about the "outside world's perception of erotic writing?

A: Well if the number of sites is anything to go by and the numbers of readers on ES alone are anything to go by, I think there is not a great problem. However having said that I do realize that there is another camp who finds it disgusting... but in general I think the world is changing its attitude. It's not that long ago, gays and gay marriages weren't accepted, ok so there are still those who oppose it, but it's now out in the open and in general people accept it.

Q: One thing that I love about ES is that you very quickly build up a community of fans, who enjoy writing to and hearing from their favorite authors. Do you have any favorite topics that have surfaced in these "conversations"?

A: I think most want to know about me, and my lifestyle...oh and the pics I post. I get quite a lot of requests for more pics. Smiles. At first I posted the odd snap shot that family had taken. Then a photographer friend of ours, said he thought it would look better with a more professional look to them

Q: How do you feel when you receive negative comments or very low votes from readers?

A: Ah now this can be a little annoying and irritating. We all get them; I think they are the creation of perverse minds, much akin to graffiti persons, they know full well it annoys authors, and it contributes absolutely nothing to ES, I mean lets face it. Score 1,2, 3 and followed by comment. "It stinks". What sort of lame brain is that? If it's not to their liking, at least add some constructive comment, and it's usually sent by.... you guessed it anonymous.

What they don't seem or want to take on board, most writers take quite a bit of time and effort to write these stories, and every effort should be made by all to encourage, not discourage them. I get up and coming, and new writers who send me their stories for me to preview, some are way off track and need a lot of work, but I never put them down, merely point out where they can improve their writing skills, not that I'm any sort of expert, but I hope it helps them. The positive side of course is all the readers who write and tell you how much they enjoyed them...and that's what counts.

Q: And do you read, and respond to, other writers on the site? Who are your favorites?

A: Yes I have never knowingly, not responded to any one who had taken the time to write to me. I think it's only courteous to respond. Hmm - my favorites, well you for one, then there's jillbaby, never miss reading any of hers, Will Buster, Lady Grey, Rain Girl, all come to mind. By not reading any other author, I think you miss out, you can pick up some good hints and ideas you can turn to your own advantage... as they say don't try and reinvent the wheel, these are obviously successful writers, you can glean an abundance of knowledge reading their stories.

Q: I adore the photograph you have on your profile. Is there a story behind it?

A: The present one, yes, taken in the Melbourne Bordello.. "Salon 75" comes to mind. It was written with the Bordello in mind. "Good memories"

Q: Have you ever been filmed or photographed having sex?

A: Whow, oh yes that as well, I mean you can't be involved in the sex industry and somewhere along the line not be involved in nude photography and pornography, it goes with the territory. Oh yes I've made porn, and husband Dave has held the camera, thinking he's some great producer. There are out there some porn movies, I've taken part in....not produced by Dave.

Q: Do you remember the first pornography you ever saw?

A: My first porn movie...yes at a very early age, with friend Linda. Her mother, had porn movies in abundance, (there was a reason for this) we had nights secretly watching them, although I suspect mother knew.

Q: Do you have any fantasies that you would like to fulfill?

A: Ha yes but not open to discussion here *smiles*

Q: What is a major turn on for you during sex?

A: A man with a good tongue

Q: How about a major turn off?

A: As above no water or such things

Q: How do you feel about same sex relationships, both personally and as a writer?

A: I have no problems with it, I've experienced both and I'm quite comfortable with it. I believe a relationship with another female takes place in "The wife swap" which I hope to continue with soon.

Q: Do you explore these feelings, positive and negative in your stories?

A: Oh yes

Q: How long does it take for you to write a story? Could you talk us through the process?

A: Well once I get an idea and the urge to write I have to put it down straight away. The urge is the powerhouse that keeps me going. I would think an average story would take me about a couple of weeks. It depends on work and other demands in my life...yeah I'd say a couple of weeks. I have a need to get it finished smart quick, before another idea pops into my mind, and I leave off writing one for another.

Q: Right now, your most popular story is Short Story 5: Halloween, with an average vote of 9.46. Do you agree that this is your best? Why do you think it struck such a chord?

A: I did not realize it was my most popular, it's not my favorite and I'm at a loss at to why it is seen as my best writing. It was a story that was born from an article I read, it spurned my imagination and suddenly the keys were typing and my mind working like an uncontrolled waterfall. But then that's the same with most of my writings, once I start them, they just mushroom and keep on growing.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to say to the readers of this interview and your fans? Now is your chance.

A: Yes, I must hastily add that I do not wish to glamorize the sex industry. It's a dangerous environment to be in, in many ways, safety is always the prime concern. Many do not survive, physically or mentally. I was one of the lucky ones. I was given some advise from an ex cop, who was one of my first clients. "Get out of it hun... before it's too late" well as it happened I didn't, I was lucky and survived, but I say it to any young girl or women thinking about it...don't.

Q: Finally, do you have a website or a blog, where your fans can visit and maybe learn more about you?

A: No I don't, but perhaps I should do so. I see there are other authors who do.

Finally I would like to thank you, Chrissie, for affording me this opportunity to write about myself. I hope it answers some of the questions that readers put to me from time to time...Thank you and I hope my fans don't think less of me for being so frank and open.

Please read Lisa Peacock's stories.
