LOVE ASHLI INTERVIEW

It was back in September 2007, almost three years ago, that Shuggie sat down to talk with Love Ashli. Since then, she has published a host of brilliant new stories, and established herself firmly among ES.com's most beloved authors. And that's before we even mention her profile photograph! So, we begin by asking her to catch us up on everything she has done since her last interview.

Well it has been a while. I've spent more time focusing on family and my personal life. Most importantly, I got out of a mother slump I had been in. For anyone that read my BMW story, that was an important moment for me....giving up my minivan to feel more like a woman and les of a taxi cab.

Q. You answered some of these questions last time, but for the benefit of new readers, how and when did you begin writing erotic stories?

I wrote my first story over 5 years ago, and posted it on ES as my first attempt at writing. I had been chatting with a guy for 2 years and we became rather close online. I used to tell him some of my experiences with my husband. He thought the story of making love to him while subtly teasing another man was very hot. So at his suggestion, I wrote down the story and submitted it just for kicks. The reaction was a wonderful surprise....I had no idea I would get any feedback. But over 4,000 people read that first story, and then my writing career began. And it's now (gasp) 8 years later.

Q. Have you published anywhere other than ES.com?

I had posted a few stories at Literotica many years ago but ES fans are the best. Many sites have stolen my stories and posted without my permission but I don't have the time to chase them down.

Q. I'm sure readers have their own vision of who you are - how much of yourself do you include in your stories?

I don't really have a great creative mind to write fantasies and other works of fiction. So I tend to write mostly from real experiences. I write them more for myself than to what might appeal to the masses. If you want to hear what a woman thinks when she's exploring her sexuality then my stories might be a good fit. But don't expect some of the crazy adventures you'll find with other writers.

Q. Do you write other kinds of stories... ie - non erotic? If "yes", please tell us about them; if "no" please explain why not.

Nope, this is the only writing I do. Honestly, every other facet of my life, I have friends and family to discuss my feelings and emotions with. But when it comes to sexuality and my inner desires, that I express in my writing.

Q. What is it about writing erotica that you most enjoy?

The response I get from people that read it. The minute those emails stop coming is the day I stop writing. I've connected with many fans on different levels, some on SecondLife, some in chat and IM, and well....I'll leave the rest to your imagination.

Q. You mentioned before that most of your stories are based on personal experience. Is that still the case - and, if it is, do you ever worry that one day you'll run out?

Yes, they mostly come from real experiences. And I know I haven't written much lately. I've been very busy lately, plus I haven't had too many new adventures to write about....but I promise to add one soon.

Q. On that subject, is there anything you have written into a story that you would really like to try in "real life", but haven't yet been able to?

I have done everything I've written about so far. Now that doesn't mean I don't want to try new things...I have a list of those ;)

Q. Does your partner or any of your friends know that you write? What do they think?

Nobody knows about my writing....it's my little secret. Ssshhhhh, don't tell anyone if you meet me on the street.

Q. How about in more general terms - how do you feel about the "outside world"'s perception of erotic writing?

I don't know. I haven't discussed it much with friends or family. But there are some people that I've met online and they all seem very excited and supportive when they hear I'm an erotic story author....so I think the response has been wonderful.

Q. One thing that I love about ES is that you very quickly build up a community of fans, who enjoy writing to and hearing from their favorite authors. Without naming names, do you have any favorite topics that have surfaced in these "conversations"?

I can't tell you how many times I have gotten emails from couples or men/women about trying anal sex after my story. They've asked for tips or shared their experience after reading my story. It makes me happy to know I helped others expand their physical boundaries with this.

Q. How do you feel when you receive negative comments or very low votes from readers?

It hurts. I got one bad comment about a story that involved flirting with 2 men at a dance club, while my hubby was watching. I felt so bad I removed the story.

Q. What categories do most of your stories appear in - and is there a particular reason for this?

Many fall into exhibitionism and one-on-one just because they all come from real life experiences. But every now and then I do like to stretch my boundaries and see if there's an experience I can relate into another area.

Q. What kind of stories would you never write?

Probably poetry. I was never good at it and never really enjoyed reading it. But all power to those that can write it well and those than enjoy it.

Q. And do you read, and respond to, other writers on the site? Who are your favorites?

Although she doesn't write anymore, JenniferO is always going to be my favorite. Also the newer work of Raingirl has been outstanding as well.

Q. That's quite a photograph you have posted on your profile. How did it come to be taken?

That was taken on the weekend of my wedding. My husband took it of me, and it's one of many he has like that. I won't show my face for privacy but I try to show some shots that let you see who I am while respecting my need for discretion.

Q. Have you ever been filmed or photographed having sex? Tell us about that.

Oh sure. I asked my husband to film us on several occasions. We did it with the camcorder and watched it later on...it's very hot to watch. I really should buy him one of those flip cameras so he can do it more often.

Q. I loved what you said last time about the first porn film you ever saw... I agree, Janine Lindemulher is a goddess. Do you think anybody has ever matched her, and what do you think about "modern" porn?

Modern porn so lacks the class and taboo of the classic movies and stars. Today it's more of a business, where back in the 80s and early 90s the people involved created unique art. Besides Janine, I think Jill Kelly is the closest to modern stars with such class. Although nowadays, I think I prefer amateur porn vs. commercial porn.

Q. What's the kinkiest thing you have ever done?

I don't really know what would top the list. There are many "finalists" for this question....like wearing garters to pick up my new car, giving a hand job to my hubby at a wedding, going down on him when we're driving home and other people are asleep in the back seat.....I could always use some suggestions for new ideas.

Q. What is a major turn on for you during sex?

Talk and lots of it. I hate quiet sex....I want lots of moaning, dirty talk and just loud crazy sex. If you ever end up in a hotel room next door to me, let me apologize right now. You won't get much sleep.

Q. How about a major turn off?

Selfishness. Thankfully I don't have a man that is done in 5 minutes. He's wonderful and thinks of my needs. But there are too many men that are "cum and done" within minutes.....I am usually just getting started by the second hour.

Q. Do you explore these feelings, positive and negative in your stories?

I think so. Many of my stories, I will share exactly what I was thinking or feeling at the time to let you get a peek into my inner mind.

Q. You've written so many stories that I consider "classics," but I must admit the one that really got me going was "Wearing A Remote Control Vibrator In Public." So, tell us - is it a true story?

Yes it is. Thankfully there are newer and better remote control panties these days, and I have gotten a newer one since that story. I originally wrote that one in 2003 but updated it a few years ago. I think many of my husband's friends know I'm a lady in public but a wild cat when the bedroom door is closed....they can dream, I don't mind.

Q. Right now, your story "An Evening Alone With My Husband" has an average vote of 9.52, to make it your most popular publication on the site. Do you agree that it's your best yet - and do you have any thoughts about why it's so popular?

I don't know if that's my best story. I certainly enjoyed writing it and have re-read it many times. There's one story where I masturbated on a plane that got far more reads than any other story I wrote....10 times the number of some of them, so that one is special to me too.

Q. Is there anything else you would like to say to the readers of this interview and your fans? Now is your chance...

Nope, I have resisted the urge so far to go out on my own with another site or blog. I'm happy doing this on ES.com
