Shayla has been publishing with ES since September 2007, and the memorable "On A Business Trip." She has published a dozen stories since then, most recently "Chance Meet."

Q. Now, is there anything you'd like to tell us about yourself?

I go through spell a couple times a year where I am a total slut. Seems to have started after I divorced my first husband.

Q. How and when did you begin writing erotic stories?

After my divorce, I began reliving some of my old sexual experiences in my head. I decided to write them out so that I wouldn't forget, which also gave me the opportunity to relive those times again and again as I wrote and proof read them.

Q. Have you published anywhere other than ES.com?

Yes, I posted one on ASSTR. I tried to post others, but they don't seem to be taking new submissions.

Q. What is it about writing erotica that you most enjoy?

I get to relive some good times and great sex.

Q. What is your favorite category to write in, and why?

There's so many good ones. I guess interracial, bondage, anal, and exhibitionism because those are my favorites when I have sex.

Q. How much of yourself do you include in your stories?

A lot of me shows through in my stories.

Q. Is there anything that happens in your stories that you would really like to try in "real life", but haven't yet been able to?

My stories are written about my real experiences.

Q. Does your partner or any of your friends know that you write? What do they think?

As far as I know, they don't know this side of my life. I like to keep this somewhat private, and typically I was away from home when I had my adventures.

Q. What, if any, difficulties do you face when writing - erotic writing difficulties and general writing difficulties? And how do you overcome them?

My biggest difficulty is finding enough time to write. When I started writing, I was unemployed, so writing helped fill my time, but now my job takes so much of my time. I must have a dozen or so stories that are partially written just waiting for me to finish and submit them

Q. How about in more general terms - how do you feel about the "outside world's perception of erotic writing?

I know a lot of my female friends enjoy reading romance novels, and those are pretty much erotic stories with a fancy cover, so I think most people enjoy erotica, at least to a point. They can read and fantasize about things they will never do. I'm just the opposite. I will try anything and then get to write about while I relive the experience.

Q. One thing that I love about ES is that you very quickly build up a community of fans, who enjoy writing to and hearing from their favorite authors. Do you have any favorite topics that have surfaced in these "conversations"?

I challenged my fans to write a story about me, and the ones that did have done an amazing job of capturing my nature even though we have never met. I could actually picture myself doing the things the readers imagined me doing. I guess they really were paying attention while reading my stories.

Q. How do you feel when you receive negative comments or very low votes from readers?

I have only gotten one or two negative comments, and those were from a father of two girls that didn't like my story that contained some barely consensual sex while I was a teen. I replied to him that I just wrote about what actually happened. Low vote count is somewhat discouraging, but I don't see anyway to increase the votes. Some people won't vote, even if they love the story.

Q. And do you read, and respond to, other writers on the site? Who are your favorites?

I don't get to read as much as I like, but Moodcouple and GuessWho are a couple that I do like to keep up with.

Q. Do you remember the first pornography you ever saw?

My dad had Playboy magazines in my parents bathroom that I view many times, and I found a VHS tape called Trashy Lady that was the first adult film I ever viewed.

Q. What's the kinkiest thing you have ever done?

I guess that would be the night I spent at a bondage club in San Diego when I was 22. I was naked, bound, and blindfolded and was the evening's plaything for any that wanted me.

Q. Do you have any fantasies that you would like to fulfill?

I have had a fantasy for years where I go to a large rock concert wearing a little skirt and top with nothing underneath, and when the lights go down, I wade into the thickest part of the crowd and strip off my outfit. Then I continue moving through the crowd being felt, fondled, fingered, or fucked, by any that want to use me. Since I am nearly 40, I doubt that I will get to fulfill this one.

Q. What is a major turn on for you during sex?

No matter what kind of sex I am engaging in, if the guy grabs my breasts and handles them roughly, squeezing, pulling, etc., he's certain to make me cum.

Q. How about a major turn off?

I find vanilla sex to be boring and uninteresting.

Q. How do you feel about same sex relationships, both personally and as a writer?

I have been with several women in the past and I am all for same sex relationships. However, I always end up going back to men because I love cock. I have written a story involving a same sex orgy.

Q. Do you explore these feelings, positive and negative in your stories?

I do try, but sometimes I have trouble translating my feelings into text, or I need to go masturbate because the memory is so intense.

Q. How long does it take for you to write a story? Could you talk us through the process?

I was unemployed when I started writing, so I had lots of free time and I could finish a story in a couple of weeks, but now, my new job is taking so much of my time that I am way behind. I have a couple dozen outlines for stories written to help me remember, but I can't find the time to finish.

Q. What do you think is the best story you have published here?

A Brief Encounter is my favorite. A fan wrote it about me, and ever since I read it, I have been planning how I can go and do exactly what I did in the story. When I was younger, I wouldn't have hesitated to go out and be that girl, but age and gravity are beginning to take their toll on my body and it's making me self conscious. If I were to do this now, would a strange man be as accepting to my advances? I will post a story about it if and when I act this out.
