Cassidy and the Firemen

I went into work just like any other day at the firehouse I was stationed at in Fargo, North Dakota. The time of the year was early February and we still had an abundance of snow throughout the state. This wasn't unusal considering how far north we sat on the continent and fires of the indoor variety were the type we mainly encountered. Those seemed very scarce this year, however, likely due to proactive measures people took such as firealarms, extinguishers and keeping matchers and lighters away from their children. We firemen of station #1 even went as far as giving lectures to those same kids at school as well as their parents at businesses and factories around the city.

With so few fires now we had the time to maintain our equipment to the best of our abilities, service our trucks and run as many drills as we deemed necessary. This would allow us to be at our very best and tackle any fire or other emergency disaster head on while increasing the odds that we'd get the results we wanted: firstly saving lives and secondly, preventing property damage if possible.
