It was around 9 pm and it was beginning to snow. The wind was cold and blew with enough force to rock my Four-Wheel drive jeep. I drove slowly heading for my cabin, away from the town. I enjoyed roughing it out in my family's cabin every weekend with my girl friend, but this time I was alone. We had recently broken up, but I decided to go anyway. Maybe can get lucky and pick up some local girl for company. Now while driving through the bad visibility, my thoughts were only on reaching my warm cabin safely and cooking up some hot chicken soup and a sandwich.

Suddenly out of the darkness, a car materialized by the roadside. I passed it and screeched to a halt. Maybe it had broken down and the driver needed my help. I opened the door and stepped out into the icy darkness with a flashlight. I walked to the car and could not spot anybody around. The windows of the car were closed and I peered inside with the help of my flashlight. In the front seat, I saw someone curled up in the cold. I knocked, but got no response. I smashed the glass with my flashlight, reached inside and unlocked the door. I shined the light on the driver's face and I saw it was a girl. She was quite blue with cold and her cheeks felt like ice. I put a finger at the side of her neck and felt a faint pulse. Dashing to my jeep I grabbed a woolen rug and ran back to the car. I wrapped the rug around the girl and lifted her in my arms. I put her in the rear seat and went back to get her handbag. I drove slowly to the cabin.
