Dustin Dutton had been our neighbor for three years. He'd hinted about his interest every so often, but never enough to become annoying. His interest, apparently, was my wife.

Now Dustin wasn't a bad looking fellow. He was shorter than I, but generally congenial. He sported a little goatee that he thought made him look dangerous.
