A Ghost from the Past

Nancy could not stop shaking. She had never been as scared as she was tonight. She was awakened by the sound of the smoke detector going off in her house. By the time she got out of bed the house was filled with a thick black smoke. She could barely see in front of her. By sheer will power she managed to crawl down the stairs and out the front door. One of her neighbors must have seen the smoke before she heard the fire alarm as she could hear the roar of the siren from the fire engine in the distance. She had no idea how the fire had started. She was in shock.

The fire engines arrived within minutes of her stepping outside. In no time she was surrounded by firefighters. Had this been under any other circumstance, she would have been in her glory but this was different. She had no time to admire them in their ‘outfits'. Her house was burning. One of the firemen came up to her to ask her some questions about what had happened. He was not dressed in the same attire as the others but he was handsome. As she looked at her she got this eerie feeling that ran down her spine. His eyes were so familiar yet she was positive they had never met before. As he looked at her she felt lost in his eyes. She started to feel faint and before she knew it, she collapsed. The firefighter caught her just in time.
