Harriet was so shocked by what the police officer said that she could barely take a breath. Her husband was dead. "He...he's dead?" she gasped. "Geoffrey is...dead? Are...are you sure?" Her eyes had filled with tears and she could barely see. She was vaguely aware that someone had sat down next to her and put an arm around her shoulders.

"Yes, ma'am, we're sure," Milt said. "Las Vegas PD told us one of your husband's employers had identified his body."

"It's OK, Harriet," Frank said. "I'm here."

"Frank...Geoffrey is...he's dead," Harriet stammered. She didn't know how, or what, to feel. She had pretty much come to the conclusion that no matter what, Geoffrey wasn't going to be part of her life any longer. And she'd also anticipated that he'd wind up in jail. She never dreamed he would die. And as angry as she'd been at him, she would never have wished for something like this to happen.

"What happened?" she heard Frank ask.
