Planting Time

This is a true tale that just took place today. I thought some of our readers would enjoy.

I love when I have a Sunday off. My husband always fixes me breakfast. So this morning I woke to the smell of fresh coffee. We love fresh ground, whole bean coffee, so that is all we ever have. Lately it's been a French vanilla bean. Hmmm, I also smell bacon. It feels too good here under the sheets. I don't want to get up.

The day awaits. We have a plan for our day, gardening. It's planting season, and we have all our seed. After a great breakfast, we head for the garden. The smell of fresh tilled ground is wonderful. There are a few clouds around so we get started, hoping to beat the rain.

As the day goes from late morning into early afternoon we are almost done. Only about twenty minutes until the last seeds are planted. Then we will fertilize and hit the hot tub! This is when I feel the first drops of rain. I am so hot, and sweaty I take off my tank top, and knot my hair on top of my head. The light drops of rain feel so good. They almost tickle. I watch my husband as he finishes his row and stands up stretching his back. He looks at me and sees I've taken off my top, and grabs his crotch in a joking sort of way.
