Mike and Christy had been roommates for a little over a year. Former lovers, they both had agreed long ago that they were too passionate, too hot tempered, to make a relationship work. And so they ended it, moved to separate ends of town, and ended up with a much deeper friendship because of it. A few months later, though, both of them were so broke they could barely afford soup for dinner, and so decided to move in together as room mates.
