It was close to 8:00 am, and the elevator was crowded with stiff Corporate Executives eager to begin their busy day. The screaming silence in the car was solid proof that each was locked away with his or her own private thoughts, or private hell.

The doors slid open on the third floor, and a lone woman stared in at the mass of humanity. She was very attractive, tall and slender. Her deep red hair fell full about her face and shoulders, and her full lips displayed a permanent pout. Even in her conservative navy suit and creme-colored blouse, it was clear that she was some of God's finest work.

Her most outstanding feature was her deep blue eyes. They were pools of crystalline blue that looked clear through to her soul. They appeared hesitant at this moment, as she backed away from the doors slightly. Two executives stepped aside almost as an afterthought, and offered absent smiles. The woman entered hesitantly, and as the elevator doors began to close again, she was quickly swallowed up in a sea of Brooks Bros. suits and "power" ties.
