It was a Friday night, and Carl and Emma felt like winding down from a wearing week of classes. Carl had picked up some movies and popcorn so they could sit on their asses and do nothing, just recover from college. They had just popped in the first movie, a comedy called "Sex Monster," when Emma announced that she felt social and wanted to invite some people over to watch with them and hang out. Carl shrugged, stopped the tape in the middle of the previews, and waited while Emma jumped on the phone. After calling several friends and getting no answer, Emma finally reached Bill, a friend of Carl's since adolescence, and Emma's since high school.

"Hey, Bill! Finally I get a hold of someone tonight! What are you doing?"

"Nothing, really, just watching my parents watch TV." Bill had just come back into town recently and was staying with his parents downtown.

Emma hopped a little. "Do you wanna come over and watch a movie? Carl got some straight-to-video comedy called 'Sex Monster.' One of the lesser Baldwins makes an appearance, so it has to be good."

Bill laughed loudly, "All right, sure. I'll be right over."

Carl and Emma sat around talking and comparing class horror stories ...
