Introduction:

The following is one of a series of experiments in perspective. The story is told to a second person, Teresa, as the scene occurs. My novel, A Maid for All Seasons (available from the Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and iUniverse websites) is in the more traditional third person, past tense.

Teresa is the 19-year-old daughter of a German businessman who died in the tragic 747 crash a few years ago. Her mother died when she was six and her father married a much younger woman named Felicitas, who is Devlin O'Neill's half-sister. Felicitas was a late addition to the O'Neill clan by a second marriage of Devlin's father, and is older than Teresa by fewer than ten years. At their father's passing, Devlin became his half-sister's de facto guardian, then later the financial guardian of Teresa's trust fund, owing to his long friendship with Teresa's father.

Shortly after Teresa's father died, Devlin moved to a village outside Felicitas and Teresa's hometown of Hamburg. He founded a school called Red Blossom College for Young Women in a cottage near his apartment. Late teen and early twenty-something girls attend the college to improve their English skills.
