It was blackmail, pure and simple. But then, I guess 'greymail' is a better description. The victim in this crime - me - didn't put up much of a fight.

She wanted something from me. I didn't want to give it to her - at first. She resorted to extortion. Here's how she perpetrated her plot.

I had a thing for soft porn. Beautiful women posing their exquisite bodies on the internet. Fairly harmless as weaknesses go. My wife was ok with it.

The problem was that I had pornographic jpegs and erotic stories in a directory on my work laptop. And I worked for the government. It was stupid. I did it anyway. I travelled a lot with that laptop and I enjoyed the pix and stories when I was holed up in some lonely hotel ...
