There was an almighty crash. The yacht shuddered and everything was flung forward. I heard water rushing in and I disentangled myself from Ajisaka and scrambled off the bunk. I tried to get up on deck but there was a cascade of water pouring down the hatch which washed me back. I knew for sure that we were sinking and I was pretty certain that I would be trapped down below in the doomed yacht - they say that at the end you re-live your life in a flash . . . .
