John Norton was a wealthy man. He made a fortune in the oil business. When he was a bout 40 he married gale winters. Not a very successful actress, but very beautiful. After six months gale got pregnant and Ashley Norton was born. When the child was 4 years old, her mother gale died in a car crash after driving under the influence of alcohol.
