THE LAW OFFICE - PART TWO

I turned and headed off down the corridor back to my office past the reception desk. As I passed Kylie she hurriedly and shamefacedly brought her hands from under the counter. I thought I saw traces of telltale moisture on her fingertips. And was that intercom light flashing on the switchboard? Puzzled I smiled as I passed. It was a half-hearted smile I received in return.
