Kate walked up the steps of the front porch hesitantly. A large yellow Victorian house towered in front of her, beckoning her toward her new future. She gulped down her fears and stepped forward, ringing the doorbell.

The butterflies in her stomach fluttered when the heavy front door opened, and a tall man stood in its place. His jaw was square and chiseled, his face made even more masculine-looking by the appearance of a 5 o'clock shadow. His hair was cut short and was dark brown, the same color as his eyes. Long eyelashes curled outward, caressing his ruddy skin. He looked simple and strong in a pair of black trousers and a grey turtleneck sweater.

Kate, on the other hand, was the complete opposite. In the presence of his masculinity, she felt even more feminine and vulnerable, a petite girl with very soft features. Standing and only 5'3", she was almost an entire foot shorter than he. Her jaw was round, her eyes were large and round, her body soft and curvy, accentuated by the clothing she had chose to wear for their meeting. She had a flowery summer dress that fell just above the knee, and her light brown hair was pinned half back with an elegant barrette. She clutched a small white handbag, nervously anticipating his first words.
