FANTASIA ON WHEELS

It was a fine May morning, already getting hot at 8:30 a.m. He had started biking early, hoping to beat the worst of the heat. The hills were not too bad on his usual morning route, though a fine layer of sweat was already forming on his forehead from the exertion of pedaling uphill.

He had pulled up at a stop light, and was taking a drink of water from his bottle, when a red convertible pulled up next to him. He looked up to see the driver, a slim, pretty brunette wearing a tight tank top. She smiled at him, looked him up and down, and said, "Nice legs. Want to get out of this heat for a while?" Thunderstruck, he couldn't think of anything to say except, "Sure."

"Follow me, then", she responded, and drove away as the light changed. Not thinking, he automatically followed her direction, although her convertible quickly receded out of his sight. Pedaling along with more than an edge of worry, he continued to the next intersection, where he found her car waiting for him. After she spotted him beside her car, she smiled again, and made a right turn. Once again, he followed, until he encountered her waiting at the next light.
