I'd noticed that the two young women had been spending a lot of time in each other's offices, and that worried me a little. At their relatively early stages of professional development, too much gossiping and confiding could get in the way of serious concentration on their work.

Both of them were about 30. Sherry, the prettier of the two, had spent a number of years as a prosecutor before shifting to the civil side of the legal business, and therefore was well behind her age group professionally. Her personal history was somewhat mysterious; it appeared that she had come back to town to help take care of her aging mother. Keri, not as lovely of face, but with a killer body that reflected many hours in the gym, had had a career in the radio business before going to law school, and was divorced.

On several occasions, when I walked into one of their offices, I found the other present, and luxuriated in the aura of two attractive young women near me in a relatively small space. Neither of them gave me much fodder for late night fantasies, but it was occasionally hard to restrain myself from closing the office door and reaching for both of them at once.
