"Hey, what are you doing tonight?" asked my friend Joe.

"I'm gonna go to Dan's party," I answered.

"Me too. Do you want a ride?"

"Sure," I said. I did need a ride because my truck was getting new paint and I wouldn't have it back for a few days. We went to the parking lot and got in his truck and left for the party. It was a Friday night and we just won our homecoming football game. It was our senior year and we were out to have some fun. Little did I know how much fun I would have.

We got to the party a few minutes later. It wasn't huge, but there were plenty of people there. Dan's house is huge, with a big screen TV, lots of rooms, and a hot tub. Nick and I went in and looked around. I was looking for one girl in particular. Her name is Maddie and I have always had a little crush on her. Tonight was also a perfect opportunity because it is the first party after she dumped her boyfriend. I told her before how I felt, but she said she didn't want to stop a good thing between her and her boyfriend of the time. Then I found her. She was in the hot tub with some other people. I sat down and watched a movie with some other people. At least I said I was watching it. I was actually watching Maddie through the glass doors.
