Great Aunt Janey died six months ago in her 95th year. She had been such apart of my life after Mum and Dad died in a car crash in my first year at University. Aunty Janey's home became mine. It was my refuge from the culture shock of city living, after the isolation of the family farm. I never really understood, how she knew so much about teenagers when she had never had any of her own but she brought her own wisdom to the troubles I brought her. The home that I had spent so many happy and sad times in was no longer mine to run to when life got tough.

When Aunty Janey wrote her will, she left the house to me, on the understanding that I would sell it to finance my dream. It would not have made much sense my keeping the house anyway, with its eight bedrooms. Great Uncle Jim brought for their future together, but he died just one year after they married in 1927.
