The pounding on my front door was what woke me up, and even as I sat up in bed the strong winds and heavy rain outside made me wonder if I had imagined the noise. I had just lay back down when the pounding sounded again, a little louder and longer this time, and I dashed out of bed not thinking of my clothing, or lack of it. I hurried through my living room and hallways of my apartment, the microwave and VCR both telling me it was after midnight and closer to 1:00am. I got to the door and opened it to find my friend Michelle and she was a mess, completely soaked through all of her clothing and her long blonde hair was plastered to her face and neck. Neither of us was worried about me having just my skimpy underwear on as I ushered her inside the dry warmth of my apartment, not worried why she was at my door soaked and shaking from cold.
