Synopsis

In Part 1, Vivian Burns awakens from a very vivid erotic dream involving a stranger. In the dream she enjoys the encounter, but, but the dream is interrupted when she realizes that, in the dream, her husband, Donald is watching her infidelity. The dream titillates her, but she goes on with her life. Then she goes to her college class and encounters the stranger from the dream. Later that same day, she once again encounters her stranger in the very hotel restaurant from the dream. That chance meeting caused Vivian to ponder her sexuality and her intention to maintain fidelity to her husband.

Part 2 found Vivian wrestling with the thoughts gendered by her dream. Her husband's preoccupation with taking nude photos of her and his attempts to widen her thinking caused her to consider expanding her sexual horizons. She left Donald with the impression that, perhaps, it might be possible. But could she really go through with it?

In Part 3, Vivian is awakened from a reoccurrence of her dream in the middle of the night by her husband, Donald, who has had an erotic dream of his own. When he tells her of his dream, she recognized the dream and the same has her own and Brian's. After making love, Vivian asked Donald if he would like the dream to come true. When he answers "Yes," she formulates a plan.
