It was a Friday morning. I was upstairs practicing a game of pool. I was feeling pretty good about my game, as I had made several difficult shots. I seemed to have the banks and angle shots working that day.

I heard my wife Diane coming up the stairs. "Practicing?" she called out as she reached the top of the stairs. She was wearing her long terry cloth robe and appeared to be fresh from the shower.

"Yeah," I said, "and, I'm doing pretty well today too."

"Want to place a little bet on a game?" she asked with a little grin.

"Sure, what's the bet?"

Still grinning, she said, "The loser has to be the winner's slave for the rest of the day."

Now let me say, my wife is a pretty bad pool player. I can't think of many times she has beaten me. It seemed like a sure win.

"You sure you want to make that bet?" I asked.

"Only because I'm sure I'll win. I have a lot of things planned for you later. I'm looking forward to having you serve me for the rest of the day. ...
