As the lead bartender in a very popular hotel bar, I had my choice of shifts. I enjoyed working the Friday Happy Hours and scheduling myself for the rest of the evenings. Not only was I able to make some great cash, but being the busiest bar in town, we had a great clientele of college students, business men and women and a group of regulars.

I often felt sorry for the business women that entered the bar alone. All they wanted was to have a drink and relax, but they often had to put up with being hit upon by every swinging dick in the place. I could tell which ones wanted to be left alone and the ones that were looking for some action. The ones that wanted to be left alone would try to brush off the advances.

If they seemed nice, I would tell them of a great trick to ward off the men. The trick is to tell the guy that she was waiting for me (or another bartender) to get off of work. The guys wouldn't press the situation knowing I was just steps away behind the bar. Most of the women I told this to couldn't believe how easily it worked, and how effective it was. No one else would bother them. This would also give me an in with the lady. I could usually count on a pretty hefty tip and they would know that I wasn't trying to hit on them and the would start ...
