"You guys sure are in a hurry to start the midterm." Chad said as John and Max hurried to finish their lunch.

"Well, we figure we need all the time we can get. Right Max?" said John.

Chad looked at him quizzically -- no pun intended. "Didn't you hear? It's a timed test, only 40 minutes."

John and Max looked confused. "Doesn't it start at the beginning of the class period?" Max asked.

"It starts whenever you start it," Chad said slowly.

"Oh, I get it. This must be one of those new computerized tests," Max said.

"Didn't they have those in your high school?" I asked in surprise.

"Not until just before I graduated," Max said.

"Oh. Mine always had them," I said.

"Mine too," Ben agreed.
