Part 1: Prologue

After a grueling 15-hour flight from New York, we finally arrive at our hotel room. I open the blinds to have a better view of the city below us. While my wife fills the tub with warm water, I make myself comfortable on the bed and turn on the TV.

A week ago, my company requested me to fly out and meet with a client of theirs for a couple of days. In exchange, I can take the rest of the week off -- paid. My wife, Lana, immediately agreed. So, here we are - Los Angeles.
