AUCTIONED II

Nick sat on the bed debating his options. The sun now poured into the room at full strength, across his body, warming him. He was restless and a bit confused over what happened earlier that morning. He needed to clear his mind.

He went into the closet and rummaged through its contents. Nick found some of Alik’s boxers and put them on, along with a pair of shorts and a T-shirt. They were a bit too loose on him, but he refused to walk around in garments designed for the bathroom again. He opted to go barefoot though, because Alik’s shoes were two sizes too big for him. His hair was still in disarray but decided to leave it as it is.

Nick ventured out into the hallway and promptly bumped into a middle-aged woman. She carried with her a pile of linen in her arms. Nick guessed her to be the housemaid. Upon seeing him, the woman broke into a quick speech in Arabic and left Nick staring at her with a blank look on his face.
