It was another Saturday night and like the past nine before, I was with Roe again. I had grown to enjoy our informal weekly meetings. Even more than these interludes I love being so comfortable with him. For the past ten years Roe and I have been more than friends, but sadly less than anything else. So when this weekly tradition started I thought it was great.

Sometimes we went to the bar; sometimes we played games, once we even played Frisbee Golf. Tonight it was raining and neither of us was feeling too ambitious, so we decided to watch an old movie. While Roe opened the wine, I started the show.

Halfway through the movie and on our third bottle of wine, Roe and I lost interest. We opted instead to turn it off and listen to the raging storm. Roe put his feet up and stretched out. I curled up next to him using his lap as a pillow. He began to run his hand through my hair and down my back, stopping only when his palm cupped my buttocks. He repeated the process, like he always did. I absentmindedly caressed his inner thigh with my fingertips, just like I always did. Once again I was ensnared in the same trap with good, old, comfortable Roe. No wonder I am still alone.

"Kenda, tell me something about yourself that you've never told me before," Roe whispered when he was bored with the silence.
