I glanced back from my desk at Kris. He was attentive, as usual, to the Algebra being taught in our third period class. We were in college, both of us in our senior year, and I'd known him since fifth grade. Kris was the sweet, quiet kid you saw at school always. I was bored out of my mind, and found myself trying to get Kris's attention. He sat in the desk directly behind me, deep, dark, sultry eyes peering at the blackboard.
