SATURDAY It was the beginning of my senior year of school, and my sister's freshman year. Our parents were visiting relatives in Chicago for the weekend, but they knew that Karen was having a few friends to sleep over.

It mattered little to me. I was out on a date all night, and didn't get back in until 11. The girls were in the family room watching TV and playing a game or something.
